Today, we are going to take a look at the NH-C12P_SE14 CPU Cooler.  If the heat-sink looks familiar, it's because we reviewed it previously as the Noctua NH-C12P Low Profile CPU Cooler back in July 2009. There it was paired with a NF-P12 premium 120mm fan,  the new NH-C12P_SE14 instead comes with one of Noctua's NF-P14 FLX 140mm Fans, which is a 140mm model with 120mm and 140mm mounts.

Noctua claim that the replacement of the NF-P12 with the NF-P14 FLX 140mm fan give two substantial benefits - lower sound and better cooling.

This cooler comes complete with Noctua's mounting kit that brings support for Intel LGAs 775,1156,and1366, as well as AMD fittings.

With a height of 114mm including the 25m fan, this cooler is relatively low profile and will be of interest to people with or contemplating HTPC builds or other fairly small enclosures, as well as mainstream users.  How will the new model perform?  Read on to find out...

Noctua Info:
Noctua have created a great reputation for creating effective fans and coolers, whilst at the same time managing to keep noise within acceptable levels. They make no compromise on quality and consequently their products are in the premium end of the market.

Noctua Comapny Info.

"Noctua arises from cooperation between the Austrian Rascom Computer Distribution Ges.m.b.H and the Taiwanese Kolink International Corporation and entertains a development partnership with the Austrian Institute of Heat Transmission and Fan Technology (Österreichisches Institut für Wärmeübertragung und Ventilatorentechnik, ÖIWV). These connections form the key to the achievement of our goal: The partnership with the ÖIWV permits the application of scientific measurement instrumentation, methods of calculation and simulation technology in the R&D process. Rascom's long, customer-oriented experience in developing and distributing sound-optimised high-end products ensures a clear focus on the users' needs. The use of Kolink's advanced manufacturing technology and ultra-modern production plants allows us to efficiently implement our technical edge and provide solutions of the highest standard in quality and performance."

Next, the official specs...
