Things are moving fast in the highly competitive world of solid state drives, with each manufacturer trying to outdo the other with extra features, or improvements in firmware and performance.  Today's review subject, the Crucial RealSSD 128GB drive is no exception and is not only the first SATA III 6 Gb/s model, it is also the first SSD that we've seen that uses the Marvell 88SS9174 BJP2 controller.

The addition of SATA III compatibility is an interesting move from Crucial, given that the format is only just starting to filter through on certain motherboards, with no official Intel support as yet, however, it does allow for slightly higher sequential read speeds at up to 355MB/Sec.  It's all very well having super fast sequential figures, but will the C300 deliver IOPS to match?  Read on to find out...
