Regarding the HR05 SLI IFX, it's not a problem, i have one on my NB and it has some 1/3 of a inch clearance.
You should check distances but i think one could go facing the side panel, and the other one facing the back or the front of the case.

Well, it got my GPU temps down 10% on my HD3870, and i seen that the hotter the GPU the biggest the difference (ie if your GPU is at 70C you will get more benefits than if it were at 60C).

Are there coolers, ghetto mods for something like that?
I saw on another forum a Thermalright V2 and a HR03 on a single board.

heidiho,
MustRotate do you reckon 2 Thermalright V2's would fit side by side on both gpu's of the 4870x2 if on removes some of the cooling fins or would the outer heatpipes also faul each other?
Cheers

As you can see from this picture

they are pretty wide.
I saw on XS that someone hinted on using a T-Rad and a HR03 RevA. I cannot find a T-Rad in my third world country for now because i would try something like that.

If the GPU that is closest to the DVI connectors is located exactly in the same place as the regular single chip HD4870, the T-rad would fit, but if it is even a few mm closer it won't.

Well Kelainefes, i'm pretty sure with the T-Rad there is some minor upward bending job to do.

Atleast Thermalright is now proposing V2+HR03RevA as an official solution for 4870x2 cooling.

Looks like they just threw a few pieces of aluminium together.

Not necessarily, you could install the HR03 with the fins on the back of the card.
