So, aff, Tb - having used this drive for a while what are your final impressions?

1 drive good enough or will you only really see the benfit in R0? Asking as the write speeds don't look to be mammoth - opinions?

Honestly have used three different SDDs so far i would still take the X25-Ms over anything else bar the new Crucial SATA 6.0 or Sandforce drives, but neither are good enough to make me want to sell these and spend the extra.
As for the low sequential writes, they really only matter if you are constantly shifting large files around and even at 70mbps this is still as quick as most mechanical drives.
Where you get the benefits are with the small random writes, the intels excel there.
Reads are all round good so if the seq writes are an issue for you look at Indilinx based drives or those newer ones i mentioned but they are a fair bit more just now.
In regards to R0, its really not necessary more of an indulgence really, you wont see a difference day to day using a stripe.

Ahh ok, well i just managed to pick one up fairly cheap. I'm in 2 minds whether to sell the M225 and look for another one of these or vice versa

I've always thought, without looking in to it, admittidly, that the Intel drives are better, agree?

I would say its horses for courses.
Folk who encode large files may find the Indilinx drives better, but for pretty much everything else the Intels have an edge.
Have a read of Anands SSD relapse, he did some very detailed work on both.
