I started overclocking only in the last few days when i got a nice Thermalright SI 128 SE and a SilenX 120x38mm fan and i gotta say the heat is very much kept to a minimum at the moment Prime 95 can barely get to 56 C but in real use, encoding a movie in HD x264 while watching one in the same format stays between 44 and 48 C.

On topic, if I were you I would try setting the RAM to 1:1 and tighten timings...
I have cheap GEIL modules running DDR2 890 at 445 FSB with 2.1 V (AI gear sais 2.6, but that can't be accurate, i think modules would fry very fast at that voltage and my probe thermometer says 43 under Prime95 taped to the side of the heat spreader), and i get 9250 MB/sec read speed in Everest (4.20.something).
I have tweaked all timings in manual, even the secondary timings and they DO make a big difference.
If anyone has those same modules from GEIL (they are rated DDR2 6400 4-4-4-12, orange heatspreaders), and is interested in the timings and other settings i will post them.
I would love to run cas 4 but they seems to be some weird issue getting my motherboard to even p.o.s.t even at full stock with crucial ballistix's. 1.65v is required on the northbridge for my board to even p.o.s.t before i alter anything else.
Very weird this problem is...if i ever figure out a way round it i'll post up some cas 4 timings.

I was wondering, has anyone installed Thermalright HR09s on this board? Any advice on how to install them?
Is it better to use the included thermal tape or can i use thermalright chill factor (it is non electrically conductive)?

For the HR-09 heatsinks, I would say that it's best to use a pad unless your mosfet/pwms are perfectly flat, and then use tape...you can use some non conductive paste instead, such as Ceramique, but it's messy.

One of my sticks of ram is faulty yet again...Tested each stick on it's own then together.
Made a little video when both sticks are installed using memtest86+ 2.01v found here
Never went above 2.16v in bios so clueless to why this stick is throwing errors (stick is less than 3 weeks old as recently replaced).
Really fed up of rma'ing this ram over an over.

It's really easy to fix.

RMA it, sell the brand new replacements, and get some non-D9 RAM and the chances are, if its ok when you get it, it will stay ok unless you overvolt it

Okay looks like i jumped the gun on my ram both sticks test 100% on their own. Now here where it gets funky... together in dual channel both throw thousands of errors even at 800mhz 4-4-4-12. Now if i place stick one in dimm1 then stick two in dimm4 system works 100% passes memtest86+ without a hitch.
So i can't rma the ram since it works.
Suggestions? Am totally out idea's, i find it extremely weird.
Think i'll be talking to asus tech support very soon.
Okay started up a thread over at asus asking other users for input.
