    Mail Client / Which one?

Thunderbird, Windows Mail? I love firefox and was considering changing my email client .. suggestions? opinions?
If I do, how exactly do I import mail from inbox and other folders? Contacts?

    Thanks!

You need to locate your .PST file and that should contain all your emails, contacts and whatever else you want to keep from windows mail or outlook.

Personally, I use outlook 2007, it's not perfect, but i like the functionality.

If you have office standard or higher try Outlook. It does most things very well.
I use it at work, for personal email i use gmail as it does just as much.

As to Thunderbird, it is very good indeed. I dont find Windows mail that good but its not as bad as OE.

For exporting/importing let us know what mail client you are using now and we can advise

You should be able to open thunderbirid and choose file import and browse to:
    C:\Users\MyName\App Data\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail

I think that will do it, i i will double check on a vista machine tonight. I am on XP just now.

I use Thunderbird have done for years! it can do so much and as it supports hundreds of plug-in you can just about make it do anything.. the Junk filter is a fiddle but over all its fab, I used Mail in Vista Ult 32-bit I like it... simple and works.. I dont remember why i moved back to Thunderbird.

Hmm, I was going to use Thunderbird, when I loaded the proper retail version of W7 (was using the beta before with Windows Live Mail), but I couldn't find a way to import my mails from live mail, so I gave up and went back to Windows Live Mail... lol

For Thunderbird you need this addon/extension.

    ImportExportTools
