I think i might, ive fought leaving XP for a couple of years now and Win7 on my desktop is very good.
So long as they dont mangle it but chucking a load of crap into it on launch ill buy it, otherwise itll be Server08 RC2 pour moi.

I wonder will they offer it at a discount given the mess the economy is in to stimulate sales?
Given that Vista is such as disapointment for many it might be nice to offer some upgrade incentives.
Would be good for the industry as a whole.

A smart operator would use any and all enticement in this climate. But you're dealing with corporate mentality here, and corporate bean counting. I think it'll be pitched as normal and things will happen around initial reaction. Call me a cynic.

Microsoft Watch - Windows 7 - Don't Expect Windows 7 for Back to School

An alternative cynical slant on that announcement.

I've finally got round to d/ling & burning build 7057. However, there's a problem. I unplugged my 2nd HDD with all my data on it (to make sure i couldn't do anything silly), booted from the DVD, it loaded files correctly (took ages as usual), i selected my language & such. All is fine

Then it gets to the stage where 'Setup is beginning' or w/e BS it gives u, this is where it ends, the mouse is still responsive, however after being left for an hour I come back to it still seeing the same screen I have re-tried numerous times, maybe it's time to re-burn.

The DVD works fine within Vista & I have installed previous versions of win7 in the past with no trouble.
