Wifey uses Objectdock instead of Rocket dock with great success - seem to be similar setups.

Still finding my way around it (and its little tantrums), but definitely a big improvement on Vista for sure.

Looking at the Rocket dock, I used to use something similar on XP years ago and it's good, but not what I'm looking for for this (Cheers John).

I'll see how it goes now I've reinstated the quick launch menu

I have thus far only one gripe with it. The "show desktop" button is over by the clock now.
Is there any way to move this? I just cant get used to it being there.

'tis OK, found this: http://www.askvg.com/how-to-get-the-...-in-windows-7/
Works alright now but not perfect.

Yes, or enable the quick launch and it's back where it was, and you still keep the new one on the right too.

Lets put this one with the major annoyances

Been getting slow down from login to welcome page to desktop from 2secs to 40secs - sent my SSD back for exchange, wiped and reinstalled loads of times , but never seemed to get to the bottom of it....

Worked it out while talking to his Clunkiness while setting up this drive for the Nth time - the answer all along was that I'd changed my desktop background from a picture to a solid colour....

Seems I wasn't alone Windows 7 x64 RTM slow welcome screen - Guru3D.com Forums (last post has a solution) - Clunk was having similar problems with his raptor and a solid background, so be aware - It might not be your drive after all.......

It hit me too as I always go for a solid colour background, changed back to an image and time from
entering my password at the welcome screen to desktop went from 30 seconds down to under five.

Yep, it's a real pain in the arse that one. I can't see how or why it would happen, other than it is generating truly massive desktops?
