Ok, uninstalled and re-installed again and it said the Watson client is missing then i did get an error code - 80072ee7 !

Msn Errors: Can't Install Windows Live Messenger

have look at that regarding what directories to delete.

and it's from Msn Errors which you can root through.

Well that is the error code and that "free" software turned out to be a pay and we'll fix it job ! I did a system restore to a couple of days ago and the problem is still there so its weird ! I think its nuke and re-install time to be honest, its about time anyway - thanks for the help godsdog !!

I actually think you were infected with adware/spyware/malware. More likely benign adware. If you haven't reinstalled yet, stick a HijackThis log down in the software forum for me please, I'm curious and want to look at something. Thanks.
