Its the current version off their site...anyway, I normally use trilly, but that went tits up as well. Just getting my drivers together and giving vista another go

As soon as you uninstall the original msn messenger you will go straight onto msn live messenger and hotmail live etc. you wont be asked, and you wont be able to install the old messenger. No choice. ...I hate it, I hate what they've done with the "Live" revamp bollocks. ....I like trillian too, like pidgin and miranda too.

Thatll be it then.

It actually installs ok, but then starts to download files from MS and then just hangs there.

Back to trilly after vista install

I've seen such conflicting feedback about Vista SP1, I thought I'd just leave it, if there's an RC2 then I'll give that a go.

Let's see what tales you come back with

I havent installed the service pack beta yet, I'm seeing how slow it is without it first.

Even though my XP installation was poorly, it was still far quicker than this fresh installation of vista32...so lets hope the service pack speeds it up a bit, or XP is going back on again

My MSN's broken too !! I uninstalled and re-instlled but it comes up with a firewall or proxy problem neither of which exists !!

I'd forgotten about the kaspersky/grinding to a halt problem...jesus, that needs fixing. I wrote out the fix for it months ago, and they are still dishing out the same version

Does'nt even show that anymore ! just says messenger has stopped working informing microsoft and may get back with a solution ! It was throwing an error code and saying it was firewall settings or a proxy but i uninstalled that and this time it wont even open !! On Vista 64 !!
