2000 is a milestone, but it usually comes at a bit of a penalty bench wise compare the everest times here
4,600 8x575@3.33D 1,917Mhz 7-7-7-21 with yours. I've tended to run with 3.33D and higher FSB , that boosts Everest write bench.

Default Help an Aussie help an Aussie

Hey there SS. I was wondering if I could post this here and move it to it's own post if required after your opinion.

I have a guy on the Aus OC site trying to get a good OC going for a Q9550 on this particular board. I'll throw a template in the mix with what he currently has set up at the moment. His gear is as follows:

q9550 @2.83ghz
Gigabyte ep45t-extreme with Copper Radiator attached
4GB XMS3 Corsair DHX (2gbX2 kit) ram (rated as 9-9-9-24 cmd rate 2 @ 1.6V)
Sapphire 4870X2 VC
WD 1TB 32mb 7200rpm Caviar HD
Thermal Take ARMOR MX case
TT TOUGH POWER 750W PSU
Noctua NH-C12P HSF

All he really wants is a rock solid (STABLE OBVIOUSLY) OC for assumingly 24/7 usage. I could direct him to here so he can get the tips from you guys if it is preferred. I was diving through your review and OC results and I know SFA about the Quads or Gigabyte BIOS (tho now I have finally read how the Mem strap works)

From his posts, he is using the "F4B" BIOS.
Here it is:

Thanks for any guidance SS. Do you want me to direct him to Clunk and start a thread on this? or are you happy to look at this here. (I thought having it's own spot would keep your review thread clean)

not too fussed about that thanks I use post #1 as an index to what I hope is the interesting stuff so it doesn't really need that much keeping clean, apart from the language

I'd be inclined to go to something like 400x8 or 8.5 & use the 3.33D divisor to get his rated 1333Mhz ram assume it's this kit he has TW3X4G1333C9DHX ?
clock chip control - leave at default.
CPU Vcore probably around 1.37~1.38v will vary with his cpu.
CPU Termination probably 1.30v
CPU PLL 1.500v
CPU Reference - I use this as a base Gtlref but if you look at the post above you'll see that Alcibiades uses higher factors , which might work better with a quad.

MCH around 1.32v~1.34v if needed
probably get away with memory timings on auto except
Static tRead Value for channels A & B I'd try 8 or 9 and see how they go.
Also enable DDR3 Write Training if he has it, depends on bios version. It supposedly enhances memory compatibility.

rest leave as is I reckon

see how he gets on with that

Cheers SS. I've linked old mate to the topic and given your reply. I'm not sure I will be able to "translate" the settings as I don't really have my head around the BIOS options of the Gigs yet. Hopefully he will get it and be happy with 400FSB.

Cheers again m8
