New member here. This is my first post. I've learned how to tweak on this MB over the last year and it has been fun.

I love this MB as I am able to attain performance levels that many people with other motherboards are not able to attain on air cooling.

Most recently I have been thinking about stepping up my system by going UT P45 T2RS or UT X48 T2R.

Not sure if doing these upgrades will really be an upgrade since the P45 JR T2RS performs so well.

So am I good to go with my DFI JR or will the upgrades that I'm thinking about doing lead me to higher over clocks and performance?

YMMV but I don't think you'll see much improvement moving from the JR to any other X48 or P45 based board. The P45 JR is one of the best boards DFI has put out.

I have to agree with Praz. Moving to an x48 would be a step backwards in my opinion. If you didn't already have the JR, then getting the UT would be the obvious choice because i think (next to the UT P35) it's just about the best mobo DFI have ever made. You have a stonking clock already for your cpu at 4.3ghz, your not going to gain much by swapping mobo's, except of course a lighter wallet

I also agree with what they say^^

Save your cash, it's not going to get any better than that really.

And welcome to the forums

Now could you recommend me a NB heatsink upgrade?

I read your review for the Xigmatic heatsink. Looks good. Anything better?

I like the TR chipset coolers. No sure if they are better than the Xigmatic for my NB.

What do you think?

Both the Thermalright and Xigmatec heat sinks are good, I have them both and they work well, I think the Xigmatec is about half the price, so that gets my vote.

I like the TR. Which TR will fit my RIG? I think the one that is offset will be best for spacing on my RIG.

Also which one is simple to mount?

Do you have any photos of TR?

Thanks!

I had the HR-05 SLI on my LT-X48, it fitted fine (just check it doesnt clash with your CPU HSF) and allows you to fit an 80mm fan. They are a little expensive though but with a nice Noctua 80mm you wont hear it and will see a reasonable drop in temps.
