DFI say that the 8700 won't fit, but the 9000 will.

So I am thinking buying this board, and maybe a stupid Q, but I just want to be sure.

I got a 4870 double slot cooler videocard and only want to use 1 PCI-e (16x) slot and since I want an Asus pci-e soundcard is it ok to use only the right (second) video PCI-e slot for the videocard? (otherwise I can't use a pci-e soundcard).

Always seen a single video card in pictures using the first (left) pci-e 16x slot only the right slot is no problem?

Welcome to the forums

Both slots are 8x Gen 2 (equivalent of 16x Gen 1), and yes, you can use the GPU in either slot.

Thank you very much. Thats too bad, lanbox definitely won't fit a 9x000.

I was reading a newegg reviewer who said he was able to get it on there with some "fiddling". I might just get it and try that, and if it fails, use the craptacular stock cooler.

Clunk, I have a little question about the Optical Out, Does it support Dolby Digital Live? output 5.1 speaker (Logitech Z5500) through optical. Thanks!

I don't believe that DD Live is supported, although it would be a nice addition.
