That's why I'm not a fan of ABS and it's plug n' play marketing. Too many variables to expect a system to boot and run with generic settings when overclocking.

Some preliminary results with my X48-T2RSB Plus.

SPI32M @ 542 FSB / 650 MHz / PL8

Everest @ 542 FSB / 650 MHz / PL8

Everest @ 550 FSB / 660 MHz / PL8

Don't think this particular kit will go any higher without getting into the downright dangerous vdimm on aircooling range. This board does clock ram pretty well, better than both my P45's.

SPI32M @ 550 FSB / 660 MHz / PL8

Thanks. I have discovered the 6.5x multiplier is broken in BIOS X48FDC24 (latest) and X48FD923 (second latest).

Any chance any of you guys can email DFI and ask for a fully functional BIOS? I really need the 6.5x multiplier for benching SPI32M, and having something simple like a multiplier broken affects my enjoyment of the board in general. I expect everything to at least work.

May be possible to get the multiplier issue fixed. But "fully functional" may be pushing for a bit much. I don't believe I've ever seen such a thing from DFI for any board.

For SuperPi runs you should be able to push quite a bit more. 550 FSB is where I stopped for 24/7 stability and the board seemed to have more left in it to go further.

Heh yeah, don't think there have been many 'fully functional' boards from any manufacturer to be quite honest. This board is quite good though, just the 6.5 multi issue I have noticed so far.

If you could inquire about getting the multiplier issue fixed that would be really great, much appreciated.

I think I am CPU limited at the moment, as I just threw an old E8400 C0 in it for testing, but I have an E8600 on the way so we will see how that goes.

Another test with my naked TG kit:

500 FSB / 600 MHz @ CAS 4 / PL10

Everest @ 500 FSB / 600 MHz @ CAS 4 / PL10

I've emailed them about the BIOS issue, I'll post back as soon as I hear anything.

Thanks very much Clunk, I hope they can fix the issue.

Played around a bit and found 668 MHz to be around the max SPI32M stable frequency attainable with this particular kit. At 670 MHz I got to loop 23 and it gave the out of round error. more voltage on the ram and NB didn't help and I tried a few combo's of drive strength/skew model but couldn't make it pass. Seems to like 1/2/7/7 for the Team Groups.

Also managed to get 700 MHz CAS5 screen at the same settings as the 445 FSB / 668 MHz SPI32M run. None of my other boards have ever let my ram go that high.

SPI32M @ 445 FSB / 2:3 / 668 MHz / 5-5-5-15 / PL8 / Team Group 8500

700 MHz / 5-5-5-15 / 2:3 / Team Group 8500

This is DFI's reply.

We have tested all versions for X48 t2rsb and discuss with BIOS RD.
Seems to 6.5X is no working for CPU, we believed this limit comes from CPU it self.
All BIOS are work above 6.5X no problem
