I've lost count as well - ish.

At a rough guess, I would say, 3 or 4 sets of OCZ Flex XLC D9, 4 sets of Team Xtreem 9600 D9 and 8 or 9 sets of Ballistix/Tracers all dead.

The odd thing is, I removed the heat spreaders on the last set when they were brand new and they have lasted for over 6 months with lots of torture and no death so far, and yes, they are D9!

The DFI panel would show 2.19 vDIMM, but to get that i had to set it to 2.23 (or something like that, cant remember exactly the value) in the BIOS. I was getting 9.8 GB/sec read bandwidth and 54 ns access times
Not that it makes a difference in the demanding applications i use my PC for, wich are games and encoding.

Looks like it is a good solution but not sure what they mean by tachometer control, do they have some inbuilt sesor or is it a 4 wire connector? Would you let me know if it is 3 or 4 wire please.

Thanks for the review, I've always wondered if these were any good.

Hi jolliffee
Fans can be tachometer controlled as long as they have 3 wires. It basically allows RPM control so If monitoring say CPU temp or some other indicator the RPM can be scaled up or down accordingly. This is done by increasing or decreasing power.

4pin leads are PWM (pulse width Modulation) run somewhat differently .The power is switched on and off , in pulses. the faster the speed the shorter the power off gap. PWM fans are compatable with the Intel CPU socket fan.
