Sorry I forgot to add that when I set it for 3.2Mhz the memory raises so I have to reset it on the right using like a divider setting to 888 but it still fails to boot.

Right thanks to you success at last should have joined here ages ago

Ok @333*9 it defauts to 1:1:50 (1000) and runs sweet.
Following your advice I have since got it working at 355*9 at both 1:1:00 (710) and !:1:20 (852).

Question is what do I do next? Should I increase the ratio or try for 3.4Mhz? I'm only using air cooling and I dont intend to use water, but I do have a alot of fans in, below is lavelys results while running prime at 3.2(852)

    Motherboard 38 °C (100 °F)
    CPU 46 °C (115 °F)
    CPU #1 / Core #1 65 °C (149 °F)
    CPU #1 / Core #2 65 °C (149 °F)
    CPU #1 / Core #3 61 °C (142 °F)
    CPU #1 / Core #4 61 °C (142 °F)
    GPU1: GPU 53 °C (127 °F)
    GPU1: GPU Diode 55 °C (131 °F)
    GPU1: GPU Ambient 49 °C (120 °F)
    GPU2: GPU 62 °C (144 °F)
    Maxtor 6B200M0 22 °C (72 °F)
    SAMSUNG HD501LJ 20 °C (68 °F)
    Seagate ST3200822AS 22 °C (72 °F)

    Cooling Fans:
    GPU1 1597 RPM (60%)

    Voltage Values:
    CPU Core 1.20 V
    Aux 2.10 V
    +3.3 V 3.26 V
    +5 V 5.48 V
    +12 V 9.30 V
    -12 V -3.72 V
    -5 V -1.18 V
    +5 V Standby 4.95 V
    VBAT Battery 0.03 V
    GPU1: GPU Vcc 3.30 V

    Thanks again really chuffed.

What is best memory forABIT ix38 QUAD GT

    Hy to everyone.

As this is my first post and I've seen almoust everihing you guys have vriten here.
When I bought this MBO i had 2 times changed my RAM first and second times it was Crucial Balistix DDR2 2x1GB DCkit 1066Mhz D9xxx (masive memtest errors after few weeks). And for long time after that I've used Corsair Dominators C5D rev1,2 2,2V 2x1GB DCkit. Then ive bougt another pair of Dominators but guys from shop here in Croatia sent me diferent revision i think 4,1 for 2.1V . Vhat the heck i tought ant stuck them in and they worked OK for about 7 months in DC 4x1GB. Then errors come back and 2,1V sticks ar gone but 2,2V sticks are ok. I've found somewhere that intel x38 doesnt like MICRON D9 chips so i tought did you guys try any other RAMs like OCZ Reaper thous have POWERCHIP chips on them??? Corsair is OK but I need to preeset the voltage to 2,2V tobypass the C1 and boot normaly but this is somehow anoing.
    Any help oir sugdestioni welcome.

    Hi maki1001,
    Welcome to the forum
I've found somewhere that intel x38 doesnt like MICRON D9 chips
    Isn't accurate at all.
The problerm with Micron is running high voltage 24/7. You can reduce failure issues by running with active cooling. Are you using any ?

I'm not using ani active cooling at the moment on RAM,I tought that Corsair heat sink is enough for 1050Mhz. Will try to pick something soon if nothing then custom built. But what about C1 the onely way to by pass is booting with other ram stick (Dominators 2,1V are booting just fine) ,set bios RAM volts then plug in 2,2v Dominators.

My guess is that your ram is slowly dying through overheating. running any ram > 2.00v it's woirth having cooling something like Corsair Dominator Airflow Fan is a relatively cheap solution.
Using most ram which is in good condition, fires up ok at default 1.8v , i've run Crucial 8500 which has always booted on default voltage unless faulty.

Ok I am going to blow up my case or motherboard which ever one i can figure out which is irratating me!! I have had my board out of my antec 900 for the last week and it has overclocked just fine been! As soon as i put it in the case and turn it on every fan kicks on wide open, cpu fan, both 3870's fans, and all the fans in the case. then it looses its settings as far as ram and cpu go so i try to reclock them and it does the same thing. So now everytime i boot up it says loaded default settings and all of that jazz but if i go in bios at all it does that!! My guess is the motherboard is grounding somewhere and would it be a good idea to get the plastic clips to put in to see if that will stop the short? thanks

It might also be that temps are too hiogh given
and turn it on every fan kicks on wide open, cpu fan, both 3870's fans, and all the fans in the case
On start up there is really no no real fan control so fans are usually at 100% or so unless contolled specifically by the bios in AbitEQ (see Abit iX38 QuadGT - Living Review. - Bios fort more info.

Re shorting assume your using the standoffs that come with the case ? not sure what you mean by
    plastic clips
?. It's best to look at motherboard tray and check that all the metal standoffs are lined up with the holes in the motherrboard and that there are no extra ones screwd in. This can happen if switching out from a DFI motherboard which uses an extra standoff along the rear side of the mobo.

The fans do not do this unless its in the tower thats why its wierd!! The plastic clips i am talking about are the ones at this page.
DATA SHEET Part #03007 STANDOFF SCREW MB PLASTIC(6)

the just are not metal and cannot cause a short!! i seen them somewhere 50 for 4 bucks but i cannot seem to find them again to see if that would help out my problem!! I now have it in another tower and i am not have that problem!!

    Thanks
