Yep sounds basd if your at stock. I'd be inclined to leave the battery out overnight & retry, if your going to returnn it , you have nowt to lose.

I'd go for either Gigabyte GA X38 DQ6 or DFI LT X38-T2R LanParty there is also the DFI LP UT P35-T2R - if you want P35.

It depends what you want to do the Gigabyte is much better quality imo than Abit , very stable with great overclocking recovery. It overclocks well but doesn't have all the bios options as abit or DFI. The Dfi boards are a tweakers dream, but can be a little intimidating if new to overclocking, worth the learning investment though.

luck

Yeah, I'm leaning towards those two x38 boards. I was even tempted to give AMD a try again with their new 790fx chipset they seem to be making a bit of a comeback. The full on tweaking of the DFI really makes me want to get my geek on but I'm tempted by the rock solid stability of the Gigabyte.

Well there's a range of
Gigabyte X38/X48 with different price levels worth looking at. Both DFI & gigabyte are good bulild qualities , it's really up to your preference. Either way I don't think you'll be disappointed. Let us know how it goes

luck

My first post ^ ^

been reading this thread for almost 3months now.
and now i think i really need to post about my issue with mobo

i got the mobo for quite awhile now with no problems
till i need to clean up my wireless kb and mouse.

so i use m yps2 kb and ps2 mouse
and i see that the kb works but not the mouse.
tried another ps2 mouse and it does not work

there is asign of power on the mouse bec the red light lit up on
the bottom part of it.

reset cmos several times
tried to flash the bios from 10 to the new 13 and still no luck

I just want to ask if there's any settings in bios that i can turn on or activate the ps2 mouse

Thanks !

hi wizkies,
Welcome to the forum
have you tried the mouse with a ps2/usb adaptor , plugged into a usb port ??
if that works, then it looks like there is an issue with your ps2 mouse socket. Have you plugged or unplugged the mouse with the power on ?? Unlike USB ports the PS/2 sockets can't be hotplugged at may get damaaged.

There are no bios settings for PS/2.

hmm

i tried a usb mouse with a usb to ps2 adaptor and got no power on it.

i purchase another adaptor and that does not work

ps2 is no a pnp device so i need to restart the pc, also i tried to reformat the OS and the mouse

wont move during the setup.

this might be a port issue, but since ps2 kb works and the optical lights on the mouse lit up

when i plugged it in, i am just thinkin if there is a settings that i need to changed..

well.. i think i need to rma minne.. sigh
