Welcome to the forums

I haven't heard of the PWMs squeaking on this board, are you sure it is those and not your graphics card or PSU? - that's where I would be looking first

I will send supershanks over to help you with the BIOS problem

Hi mmpl,
Welcome to the forum
What setting have you got for VTT voltage ??
Have only seen 1 Guy with similar symptoms Jcool - Buzzing PWM sadly it was fatal, for his board. He was running with a water block on the PWM so opinion was divided about the board being faulty or the block causing the problem.

Don't worry about the bios Official 12 Bios was from BTa 12.B09 , the bios engineer forgot to update the description string in bios. It's confused many of us

luck

Hey guys, first post here. I've been looking for info on the ix-38 QuadGT and this seems to be by far the best place for information on it. Thanks SuperShanks for all your work on this board.

Now, onto my issues. I'm getting a 9.0. post code pretty often, and it is making me do a hard boot and it resets all my OC efforts. I really don't want to have to go into bios every few times my CPU shuts down to reset my Overclock. I have the latest official BIOS and I have cleared cmos as well as removed the battery for 10 minutes, cleared cmoss again and the problem is persisting.

I'm really at my wits end about this and I'm still within my 30 day return period. However I love love love the layout of this board and it's robust feature set and I really want to stick with it. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Hi spume,
Welcome to the forum Thanls for the feedback.

Looking at post error 90 :-
Abit Post Codes
Quote:
1. Clear CMOS2.Restore default setting for BIOS3. Replace BIOS chip4. Send to RMA at last
I'd try Fix For General Instability & No post/Boot Many of us have got the issues you mention at times after overclocking. This seems to be the best solution.

Hopefully it'll help you as well. Give it a try.
You might want to compy this ABIT IX38 QuadGT Bios Template into a post & add your currrent settings, perhaps we can help if your Overclock is causing the issues.

If you could also add your components to your UserCP - Extra Optionsd we'll be able to see what your rig is. Thanks.

luck

Hey, thanks for the quick reply. I've cleared cmos and reset BIOS. I have not asked for a replacement BIOS chip though. The post 90 code happens with default bios settings so I can norrow that down. And I've also tried that fix you linked and it just keeps happening. I'm pretty sure I'm going to send it back to where I got it and just order another x38 board, or maybe send back my other 3870 and just get a p35 board till something bigger comes out. Either way I'm pretty sure this board is going back after the weekend.

Do you have a decent x38 board you could reccomend?
