try booting on a lower memory strap. best is 1:1.20 you'll have to increase FSB, overclock to get higherr ram speeds.
Try that & see if it post/boots

can you be a little more precise pls ? :/
i'll have to set:
DRAM speed: 1:1.20 (DDR2-652)
DDR2 Voltage: 2.1v

then ? how to use the 1066 mhz of the ram ? :/

If overclocking 445FSB @1:1.20 will give 1068Mhz ram speed.
BUT you are running at a much lower FSB so to get to 1067 tou are using 1:1.20 strap. THis clearly isn't working, so i'm suggesting you underclock your ram by using the 1:1.20 strap and getting DRAM speed: 1:1.20 (DDR2-652) at least this way you shoulfd be able to boot.
& avoid the 20minute issue.

have alook at Core 2 Duo Basic Overclocking guide for beginners. for more info on straps & MCH Linkage.

luck

thx, i followed the guide.. I have set 266fsb x9 @1:1.00.. disabled all the things on CPU Feature and manually set the ram latency etc. and the RAM voltage @ 2.1v (the images of the ix38 bios on the guide differs from mine.. what version is it ? )

F10.. reboot.. succesful booted. seen on cpu-z:

Then. Turned Off the pc. Turned on.. same error.. freezes at post code 9.0 :/

The thing is, now it booted but in the bios the ram voltage returned at 'Auto' (1.8v) and uGuru has set the DRAM Speed at default (798mhz with 1:1.50) automatically.

Mh.

EDIT: here the picture of the voltages

Right best thing to do is what you did before remove the battery & leave it out for a couple of hours. Your not by yourself a few people have had similar issues Fix For General Instability & No post/Boot you should see that from the examples shown that the symptoms are similar to your own. after putting the battery back in it might also be worth updating the bios to one of the BTA. I'd suggest 12.06 or 12.08

Having hopefully got sorted from the above,

Quote:
x9 @1:1.00.
you should be able to manage 1:1.20.

luck

Sorry the guide is a general guide so bios varies.

lol, i have no floppy and i can't find my old usbpen xD (formatting the ipodnano isn't an option ).. so the bios update has to wait

in the meantime i've put 110mhz in the PCI Express Clock.. the VGA was seen as 4x.. now 16x it's

And now it seems to be stable O_O Well, it doen't fail to boot at least xD

I seriously think the problem was the VGA I don't understand why @100Mhz was seen as 4x and @110 16x.. but well, it works :S

now it's stable at 266fsb x9 @1:1.00.. what do you think, can i try to higher up the system a bit ? it's underclocked now, right ? thx for your time
