:Lol:Cheers
Must admit i was quiet impressed with the Guru Ocing panel. Being able to tweak VTT & GTLRef violtages & test with prime without constantly needing to reboot, helped speed things up.

Keep up the good work supershanks, what's the verdict on this latest beta BIOS - worth installing or wait for the next release?

Can't really say that it's given me anything. Not cured the Bios freeze, which only seems to happen if you stab the [Delete] key early .

Usually though with a new board & a beta bios their worth giving a go.

cheers

Default Guru Ocing Panel

Meant to put this up earlier Guru Ocing Panel

Given the voltages i've measured earlier it's very efficient to be able to tweak settings & test without continual reboot.

Default Gigabyte X38 DQ6 FSB record beaten

My best gigabyte bootable FSB was 485
Matched
Beaten

have stuck to x7 multi while on air, will move to water, installing in case, when i get time in the next day or so and also when i sus out how to actively cool NB & PWM.

Am leaving it priming on 8x450 overnight, think this may be about the max on air. Am also interested to see what the impact is of upping vtt again. Fingers crossed

Seems to be a mobo issue. Some FSB wall at this moment. I can run my E6600 exactly @ 7*491 to !? When i try 7*500 i get freezes in Windows. 8*450 will also do 12 hours prime stable.

Default An effort to make the board better !

I sent an email to Abit EU again yesterday about the issues i've seen around all the usual forums. There seems to be a FSB wall for dualcores on this mobo @ around 491 fsb. Supershanks had it with a q6600 G0 and i have the same problem with a very good E6600 that did 515 fsb on a P5B of a friend.

Also i have problems getting the memory stable @ DDR1100 and above which should be possible with my OCZ Ti Alpa VX (PC8000@4-4-4-15 stock). I mentioned the problems people where having with quad core overclocking. All problems will be forwarded to Taiwan and he assured me they are very happy with good feedback and it will be used.

I think there are memory controller issues in bios 11 and 12B02. He will send me a new beta and/or final when they finish it. Also he is going to send me mounting clips whenever they get them from Taiwan.........

Stay tuned for more news !

For the NB I had thought about getting a 3mm thick plate of copper, using the existing mounting hardware (plate may need counter-boring slightly to allow for springs) and bonding a standard HSF to it.

Clunk: you missed this one -
