Hello everyone, I am new, I have a question? It's normal that when you modify and save the settings bios, the motherboard turn off for a few seconds and then turn on usually? Thanks in advance, greetings to all.

have you got an overrclock on, what exactly are you changing & to what. Sorry for the questions. it might be that your overclock is failing, not sure. When you go back into the bios is the value the same as you changed it to??
If not then it is restarting after a failed overclock.

No then, the overclock is stable, even when you start with the turn off/on after the changes, the new settings of bios keeps all .. when I need no further changes to the bios ... I repeat did ,also in the first configuration with all setting on auto on the first boot motherboard .. but without overclock, for example removing the logo Abit to boot, diplay init pci-express, etc. .. thanks..bye

Default Fix For General Instability & No post/Boot

There have been a number of incidents of the board being unstable
Quote:
It randomly fails to boot, have to power off for 1 minute, then wait for 1 minute else for it to start booting
or
Quote:
Kept hanging during post, giving error codes not listed in manual.
or
Quote:
namley ther issue where the computer will not boot and just keeps restarting and giving me all sorts of error-codes
The most effective solution is to disconnect the power lead & remove the cmos battery for 5 minutes. Replace battery apply power & let DMI update. Enter bios & update system date & time.

You should find that stability has been restored.

As in:-
**Official ABIT IX38 QuadGT Review/Overclock/Guide Thread**

LÔPÂN - Every OC I attempt, it fails, it keeps booting itself, and then return to stock speeds.

Ust - BUT, taking out the battery allowed me to boot up in 400*9 again which had been impossible after I had been touching the varous voltages ( even tough I defaulted them )

core2quad q6600 g0 stepping
2x ati radeon x1950xtx crossfire (plugged into blue pcie)

bios is the latest beta version B12.B06

----------------------------------------------------------
the bios settings about pcie:

pci express slot 1: enabled
pcie combliancy mode: set to 1.0a
peg force x1: disabled
init display first: pcie
----------------------------------------------------------
i plug the airpace card in the slot.
pc is booting but show no picture. and the graphic cards in the blue pcie would not be initalized

i have testet a third graphics card in the pcie express x16 black slot; booting without picture.

Hi skdubg,
Happy New year & welcome to the Forum

Have you tried your airpace card in the x4 slot??
I only run a single gfx card & no Pci-e cards so can't really help so much. I have seen some motherboards have issues detecting or working with pci-e x1 & x4 slots.

I'm not sure if changing
Quote:
pcie combliancy mode: set to 1.0a
will help. PCI-E Compliance Mode

There is a possibility that the card has not been fetected & the DMI database has got screwed. Try clearing Cmos & letting DMI Rebuild , it may help.

Failing that it seems like a support question for Abit You might try Universal abit USA Forums

luck

Smile ABIT IX38-QuadGT

Hi all,

Shanks, I can get either the Abit IP35 Pro for £105.74 or the Abit IX38 Quad GT for £129.24 both with FREE delivery from Scan.

What you reckon? Originally I paid about £157 for the IX38 (as you know refunded due to damage).

I want a mobo, not going SLI or CF but will be o/cling my Quad Q6600 G0 to about 3ghz.

I also have 4x1gb PC8500 Crucial Ballistix Tracers to use.

Thanks again,

Peace

That's probably a hard shout. My gut feeling would be X38 but, plenty have done as much & been happy with the P35.
My X38 is performing well & with more mature bios can probably improve further. P35 is mature so clocks you see will be max. There is no reason why the x38 can't do at least as well as the p35 plus it has the most modern pci-e options.

Deanzo posted a few posts back, he's pondering upgrading from his p35, though only so he can use the full 16x crossfire in the pci-E 2 slots.
