Clunk & myself are both using 2.2v rated Crucial 8500 and it has posted fine,
They used to POST fine at 1.8v when I bought the Abit IN9 but since last week they won't any more - hence having to buy a 1.8v RAM stick to boot on and change to 2.1v - which this week no longer does the trick!
At the default 1.8v I get the C1 error code on both boards.

Hi glowball, I understand where you are now. Doesn't sound like a mobo issue more a job for Corsair support/RMA time.

sorry

Corsair have now suggested RMA, in the mean time I will order some RAM from Crucial, these ones?
2GB kit (1GBx2), Ballistix 240-pin DIMM, DDR2 PC2-8500 upgrades for ABIT IX38 QuadGT Motherboard, CT741040 from Crucial.com

I reveived a new bios file from Abit Europe New BIOS file 12b02. I also have the confirmation that the fan mount clips for the pwm's should be included and that the pwm temp can easily be in 100 degrees C ! When i get more info, you will get it to !!!

When you want the bios email me @
nmsystems@chello.nl

The problem with bios freezes is also adressed. This can occur when you press del before the post code 26. They promised this will be resolved...

Well I'm on the new bios , but the problem with frozen keyboard in bios continues.

Could well be the reason but is still ongoing.

Default Clips&thingzzzzz

Abit EU will get back at me about the clips. Anyway i'm happy that they responded within 24 hours sending me a beta bios without asking questions. He assured me that they are taking our problems seriously. I also mentioned all of Clunks troubles in my email to Abit EU. They expect alot of this board like they did with Ab9 QuadGT and IP35 Pro.

Both became very interesting boards after 1 or 2 bios upgrades.

Unlike Asus and Gigabyte they dont ship millions of mobo's every year and therefore they like to keep their customers happy.

With my AW9D-Max i had memory (D9) issues. Back then i also got a beta bios that worked out for me.

But i think clunk is right about the factory in China, the build could have been better (heatsinks etc). My good old Max is a very well built board though......
