I'd like to see your Q6600 temps @ 4052 MHz, running Orthos or Prime95 for a couple of hours.
so far the results on air look better than your attempts with the Maximus
Crucial must love you, how many sticks have you killed to date for all boards !

The maximus attempts on air didnt go too well because it didnt like my B3 with the BIOS that it came with.
Luckily, Crucial have a fast RAM turnaround, thats why I use them

Welcome to the forums
Unfortunately, I didnt keep a log of the exact CPU voltages I used.
This was really just a quick/rough overclock to establish what the board could do on air cooling with a large slug of voltage
As you can see from the pics, it was around 1.6-1.65v on the CPU, I left the RAM at it's stock 2.2 (and kept it 1:1) and then I was constantly tweaking the NB voltages, and I think the main MCH voltage was up to around 1.6v (ish).

@ Clunk
Does the IX38 have the blue led lights on the back of the board that can be customised in the bios?
Thanks

Not that I can see - theres nothing on the back of any note.
Only LEDs that I can see lit up at the moment, are a red and a green close to the main ATX plug, the post code display, the power/reset switch and something red on the inside of the I/O panel.

List of Annoyances so far- Doesnt recover well from a bad overclock - forget trying to see how low you can go with the voltage, it will just fail to post, and then when you restart, the BIOS will freeze, and it then needs to have the CMOS cleared each time, which is quite irritating - A quick example, I just set 400x9, with 1.4v CPU, 2.2v RAM @800Mhz. Two cores failed prime instantly, so I hit the reset button, went into the BIOS, and it has frozen again, from virtually doing nothing
- this now requires yet another CMOS clear.
- Either freezes in the BIOS or keyboard doesnt work after failed overclock - happens with USB or PS2 keyboard.
- Requires massive amounts of voltage to get stable anywhere up to 400FSB.
- Anything over 400FSB is unstable - random restarts while priming etc.
- Guru drivers so far have clashed with the supplied Jmicron drivers, and also coretemp, and CPU-Z - this one seems a bit random, but the PC will just restart when trying to open coretemp or CPU-Z when Guru is loaded up

- 112c on the Digital PWMs with only 1.5v through the CPU - this is bad.
Come on Abit, lets have a stable BIOS.
The BIOS freezing is getting worse now, it happens almost every time I enter the BIOS.
Time to RMA I think, not got time for this.

Hmm, I have one of these coming Monday. What have I done?
Lets hope this board gets some solid BIOS updates and isn't swept to the side when X48 comes along.
Not as much interest in this board as I would have expected... but then IP35 Pro is such a strong board and has matured somewhat.
