Well, it has beaten the Maximus on raw FSB already, and considering that I'm using air cooling on this, and high end water cooling on the Maximus, thats a pretty good result.

Not tried anything else yet, will have a tinker tomorrow when I'm more alert

That said, you could have virtually any board next to the commando, and it would have looked superior...dont get me started about the commando

I'm having major problems this afternoon with the board.

I went for 505FSBx7 and it required a CMOS clear, as it wouldnt post, so I got back into the BIOS and the BIOS hung. I restarted, it wouldnt post, so I checked the post code display and that said 52 or 25 (depending which way up you look at it). I looked in the manual, and both of these can be memory related, so I took out one of the sticks and it posted, I got to the BIOS and it hung again while trying to change the settings.

I tried the other stick and that woulodnt post.

So, thats one dead, and one dying, or so it seems.

I tried another set of ballistix, just one stick first, and it posted, I set the voltage to 2.2v and restarted, it hung at post.

Cleared CMOS again, no post with that stick, so thats 3 sticks down.

Going to try a long CMOS clear and then the remaining stick of RAM, and if it isnt playing nice, it will have to go back, as I have run out of RAM

Also, I have tried a PS2 keyboard and mouse, as it appears that it doesnt like having USB devices in there when overclocking, which is a little odd. I would update the BIOS, but I cant post, and it was working fine last nigght, which is even more odd!

Edit: Left it turned off and cleared CMOS again, loaded setup defaults with the same stick of RAM that it last refused to boot with, and it booted to windows and froze

Got to go out for a while, but will try to flash the BIOS before I do anything else when I get back.

That's a bit of a bummer.

So that's why there's only 4 sockets

Yep, would appear so, and it doesnt seem to like the PS2 keyboard. And now the USB mouse wont work.

It's certainly a strange one this - I shall persevere and see what happens.

Update: The failsafe defaults disable all USB for some reason, so thats why that wasnt working. Now to flash that BIOS

disable all USB or just set USB kb & mouse support to by OS rather than by BIOS?

I had no USB at all using the failsafes, and the failsafes were the only thing I could boot with. I went back into the BIOS to check, and USB was disabled.

I've got it working with a ps2 keyboard and usb mouse at the moment, but I need to sort this ram thing out
