Who has trouble telling the difference between Lian Li models? They all have tonnes of features, all mostly the same. Perhaps slight variations. Perhaps thats why they are popular? since everyone can have a unique look, with all the same features!

I think they all have a definite and distinct Lian-Li "look", even though some of the older models have different badges and styling, you can just just tell it's a Lian-Li...might be the holes?

Clunk,

In your judgment, would this case be able to fit a Supermicro server motherboard (in particular the X7QC3) which is approx 16-by-14 inches?

I'm looking to build a 4-way Intel-solution without the loudness that comes with a Supermicro Superserver.

Thanks!

Welcome to the forums

I honestly have no idea on that, sorry.

There are many different types of fitting available in the 2110, but as that board doesn't fit any specific form factor, it's impossible to say without actually trying it.

Might be worth dropping SuperMicro and Lian Li an email to see if they can shed any light.

Sorry I can't be of more help

Well, I dropped a line to the fine folks at Lian-Li and they told me that none of their cases support a 16x14-in motherboard. Boo.

I guess I'll have to go dual-CPU or go 4-way with an AMD Operton platform.

Hi all
thanks for this interesting stuff.

I am unsure between the Lian Li A20 and V2110.

Would you share any thoughts of pros/cons for these two cases?

My goal is a silent case.
I need to stuff in the following:
i7 920
Asus P6T deluxe v2 + 6GB RAM
Nvidia GTX 285
2 HDD

A couple of detail questions for the A20:
- does it have the soundproof foam on the top panel ?
- does it have dust filters ahead of the 5.25 trays ?
- is it actually better have a honeycrumb or grill on the rear fan (as opposed to the V2110) ?

Questions about the V2110:
- are the hdd cages removable ?
- does the front door let enough air in ? (by the way, I would add a front fan in the upper area)
- how much is it tall including wheels ?

thank you much

Hi there and welcome to the forums!
You're italian right?
I'm sure the boss will be here shortly, but i can tell you that it's better to have just a finger guard on the back fan as the more restriction there is on the air the more noise (and less airflow ) there will be.

I haven't used the A20, so can't help you there, but I can help with your other questions.

The chassis with wheels is 620mm high.

The drive cages are removable - two phillips screws in either side, top and bottom for each cage.

The front door has air vents down the sides, so no problem there.
