so from your testing would you say the ept45 is better or the same as the x48t as you have one to play with, does it perform as well ;same; or better i guess is my question?

Well it's not directly comparable as i have the ddr2 version. The new
bios puts the board squarely on a par with
DFI, indeed comparing to my
DFI UT X48-T3RS
Vtt / GTLref the linkage between them on the Gigabyte is far easier to use
Tuning Bios - GTLREF & DRAM Sub Voltages
There is a price for this and the
Cmos can get corrupted easier So the Clear
Cmos Jumper and button aren't just for show.
I've just had to return the board a couple of days back, , after it's failing to
post following a
ram overclock attempt. I've been as far as taking the battery out, which takes some effort but without success. Am waiting to hear what the issues has been and get back to testing.
Depending on your storage needs you also have only 6
Sata ports on the PO45 compared to 8 on the X48. I had to revert back to using an
IDE DVD drive rather than
Sata.
Haven't seen the P45T Extreme on the shelves yet but if full 2x16 Crossfire & storage aren't essential it's definately worth a look.
