Hi,
please add your sytem specs, it's difficult to give help when we don't know your components. Also what are your current settings. Please copy bios template into a post and enter your current settings.

thanks

Sorry supershanks, did this print screen as a rush job with my timings as I'm late for work!!!!

Does my bandwidth and latency look ok for DDR2 1150Mhz @ 5-5-5-15???

Is there anything you would lower or raise?

Thanks in advance

Edit: have a look at the ram timings here 555x7.5@2.0B 1,111 5,5,5,20
or in the other links 28 onwards in the main index post 1. You'll also see some everest shots, to compare.

Angry Bios Templates

Just started setting up a new system with one of these Extreme Editions and can not get it to overclock at all.So far have tried Q6600,Q9450 both would clock well on a maximus formula with rampage bios, however the bios settings are completely different on the asus boards. The only reason I purchased this was the maximus would not go past 375 with the Q9450 and read reviews of this board taking 45nm Quads close to 500.This would have been the most cost effective way to elliminate cpu bottleneck for GTX295.System is liquid cooled,Swiftech GTX cpu block, DD 780i block on hybrid heatpipe, DD full coverage block on dual pcb 295,Swiftech 220 rad, feser 480(split loop 1/2" ID.on everything) Enermax Galaxy 1KW (the original with 4 rails feeding off of one 1kw rail),4x2gb Dominator 8500(on the maximus Prime Stable 24h@ 1133 2.2v)If I can get this to out perform the maximus I may add an 8 drive raid 5 for file storage but so far this has been a major disappointment.Has anyone on here had success with 45nm quads on this board, could really use some help with bios settup.Tried all the settings on first page of course these were for dual cores so I raised cpu core, cpu vtt,and mch but it does not respond to anything that worked on the x38 either. As most of my overclocking experience over the years has been on asus boards exclusively,I don't really know where to start with this one nothing seems to work.Beginning to think I spent 250.00 plus shipping for a copper clad paper weight.Any and all suggestions are welcome, thanks in advance.

Hi Rainman,
Welcome to the forum. Yes I ran this bord on Wolfdales, so sorry can't really help with your Quad issues.

Where specifically have you got to ? Have you identified what component is failing, Ram or CPU ?

Hi Rainman - I had my Q9550 over 4.2Ghz stable on this board (see post #444 for settings).

I know some people did have problems with the Dominators and I had problems with OCZ Reaper memory - I found that Patriot ran best on this board - I also had some problems with 1066 memory stopping running at dual channel after a while, but maybe that was just my board........

Welcome to the forums

Lightbulb Stripping Down

Thanks for the prompt replies, sorry I didn't get back last night.I just got to that point where I had to walk away or risk damaging hardware.Read a thread on one of the other forums regarding cpu backplate interference,I doubt this is the issue as the GTX has a foam block between it and the board but I have to eliminate it as a possible cause. It just does not make any sense I cant get the Q6600 stable even at 333,tried running 2 sticks of ram(in both channel A @ B positions).Pulled the dominators and put in my Gskill pc8000,no go nothing above stock clocks, boot to windows will fail and board will reboot @ defaults and go into windows.Soooo, going to pull it all apart, set it up on the floor on air with a zalman 9900 and an 8500 GT 512 start all over again and just do trial and error with Q6600,Q9450 and if I have to I will put my E8500 in it whichever gives the best gains( closest to a Q9650 @ 3.8)will stay.If that fails I will start testing in an EVGA 780i FTW that hasn't been opened yet, this ( Legion hardwares tests on cpu being a bottleneck to gpu[sorry can't post links yet] ) is what this whole exercise is shooting for, close the gap on i7 gaming performance to reduce cpu bottleneck on a fermi and give more time before upgrading to a sandybridge or the next socket to replace 1366 hopefully with ddr4 skipping the ddr3 erra as it just has not shown the theoretical gains it should have and for some reason I suspect a poor implementation of intels current memory controller.Sorry about the long rant but this has been the most frustrating board I have ever worked with. The maximus was finicky until the pencil mod was applied and I added a little skew on the memory then it took off,but this one has been down right ignorant,it won't respond to any of the normal settings.I will read up on your post (444) and post back after some out of case testing.Again sorry for the rant and thank you both for responding.
