Default Official Bios 8 Benchmark Comparison

As usual running at 4,310 7.5x575@2B 1,150 5-5-5-18, so we can compare to earlier Bios.

Benches

Comparison
Very little change, except for Wprime benches which drop back to F6K levels.

Bios settings
Unchanged from F6K Bios Settings

Good Morning SS
I am confused too but i think i might have found somthing last night. When i started my system cold i kept all my voltages fairly low except for the vcore witch i pushed to 1.5v and raised the FSB to 440 x 9.5. I wasn't expecting much because it would always fail on small ffts in a matter of seconds. But OCCT ran for 25 minutes then started to fail again after every couple of seconds, yep, you think i would of cought on earlier I was having a heat issue. I am on water cooling so there is no fan in the CPU area so with the same settings i put a fan right above the voltage regs and the big water block for the MCH. this reduced my CPU core temp down 5deg to 76c and ran OCCT for 3hrs 16min. Not perfect but gives me a whole new direction to explore with heat. All i used last night was a small 50 or 60mm fan and it made a huge diff so i want to try a bigger and more fans tonight

I will check tonight but i am pretty sure voltages are at
MCH 1.26
Vcore 1.5
Dram 2

Oh I didn't realise your northbridge was water cooled. What cooling have you goyt on the PWM area (in front of the rear panel connectors) There is a lot of heat from that area. Nice find anyway

Sounds like your using EasyTune ?? Don't forget all voltages aren't accurate in there.

I'd always make sure that PLLL is kept on manual, on auto it uses excessively high voltages, that may damage your CPU if left running for any time. Not worth the risk. 1.56v PLL is about the max i've needed. Normally run lower.

I'd try 1.42v here. Read

I have found that just increasing the MCH and ref voltages make my system instable
to what levels ??

Thanks, I will try that, so far i have figured out that the MCH is not quite high enough, so its now at 1.36v again, seems ok so far, will be trying to ramp it up again

I was wondering about termination, because i must be getting to the point i will need these extra voltages to squeeze the last out of the fsb

Nice going m8
See what you mean about those temps. have you tried stability at a lower vcore ?? than 1.50v

Well CPURef scales with Termination. Run termination of 1.20~1.340v. 1.36v should probabably be tops needed for your Q6600 I would think around 1.32v at 3.6k 1.34v perhaps at 3.8k.

I tried to lower the vcore but in the end i ended up increasing it to 1.512 to get stable. its been running OCCT mix for almost 20hrs now no faults. For some reason i have a vdrop of .07vts seems kinda hi.

Well 20 hrs no issues except vcore is hi 1.512 volts I am going to install crysis now and see how well it plays.
