I just tried to rais the FSB 2 points, from 420 to 422 the stability went for a shit. WOW this is great

I have tried several tweaks one at a time

Is exactly the way to do it, time consuming but hopefully rewarding
I'd try upping MCH Core a step at a time & see if that helps extend the orthos run or support 422.
Are you running orthos blend ?? If so keep an eye on what it's failing on small or large ffts

I know its been a while, been having a few issues with the new bios for this board.

When I was overclocking before i seemed to be able to reach quite nice speeds, but when I flashed to the latest F11 bios and upwards, i seemed to lose a lot of ground.

I dunno if you remember but i was experiencing s freeze lock up, well, this is my progress so far.

Bios F12, we have 7x465, 1.48125vcore, 1.58v PLL and 1.30v Termination, Ref1 0.781v, Ref2 0.863v, MCH 1.30v and MCH Ref 0.783v

Now thats proven Prime95 stable for 24 hours, so how come it decides to lock up a day later with a squeal... I then had to fight the board to get back to these settings, clear cmos etc... and set it up again with slightly raised PLL, Termination and MCH settings.

I dunno where this instability is coming from

yes remember the 7x465. Though I didn't remember your voltages being as high as

so is prime actually failing, if so on what small or large ?, or is iut just locking up ?
only voltage that looks low there is MCH , I'd try incresing that a notch at a time, anywhere up to 1.46v. see how that goes.

Yeh, thats the strange thing, Prime is not failing, pc just freezes, it has primed stable for 24 hours at these settings

Well I would just try tweaking the MCH voltsd. Have had similar issues , where upping MCH just pushed the clock back to stability. It's not that unusual for a bios update to rock a previously stable clock. There is also the fact that hardware might denigrate slightly over time, oerhaps through heat or voltage

Although Vcore sounds higher, its the same, 1.478125vcore in bios is just 1.424v in windows... I am now trying 1.46v mch, 1.32v cpu termination and 1.6v PLL, getting quite fed up, i have spent a lot of time getting the reference voltages right, but it doesn't seem to have helped.

although I am no expert on this board, actually i have had quite a hard time and have spent dozens of hours one stepping different voltages I have found that just increasing the MCH and ref voltages make my system instable. I am stuck at 420 x 9.5 and it seems to be the FSB that is the limit not the CPU multi. For example 465 X 7 not stable 420 x 7 stable, 420 x 9.5 stable 430 x 9.5 not stable no matter what voltages i try. any way i haven't given up i still have a whole spread sheet to fill up. I not trying to give advice just sharing info.

By the why I can boot into vista at 485x 9.5 just can't get stable.

When you boot into vista, and if you can run prime95, do you get a failure? If so where is it failing?

as far as i can tell from OCCT i fail on code 4 test is set to stress CPU.
