Getting 500 stable on a quad takes some doing , if you want high FSB then you should go 2 core wolfdale.
Rather than dive in at 500 try to get increasing from your 480.

Default Official Bios 6 Comparison

Benches
Using the usual 7.5x575@2.00B 1,150Mhz 5-5-5-18 to compare Bios performance

Comparison to F6K
Not too much change , F6 is probably F6K or not much difference.

Bios settings
Unchanged from F6K Bios Settings

Not much change here Everest copy slips back to F6H level perhaps we're seeing a little down clocking memory wise. It wouldn't be the first time this happens on an official bios. The one noticable feature is the improved performance of Wprime. we've seen the 1024m bench come down from 597.484 Sec on F6H to 573.515 Sec here 23sec 4% improvement.

My furthest overclock so far is 7x470 giving 3290mhz, i seem to have hit a wall for the moment.

If i nudge up to 7x475 i get a freeze in windows after 10 minutes to an hour. I am not sure its vcore thats required to get past this, voltages are

1.6 PLL, had to be this high to stop the board throwing a wobbly at post
1.3v termination
1.475 vcore, which in windows is actually only 1.42vcore
1.38 mch

I am happy here, would be nice to move on up, but the next step in vcore to 1.44 in windows makes no difference and seems more than enough

other than that its stable so i guess this is where my overclocking comes to an end on this platform

try a little more MCH Voltage try I've found that can cure the odd freeze that you describe. try any higher
1.32v Termination rather than 1.3v might also help.
value up to around 1.46v
What CPU reference voltage are you using ??

Cpu references are default, auto settings

think i said earlier to try something like 63~67% of CPU termination

Thanks for that, all i had to do was raise CPU Termination to 1.32v and references, ref1 to 0.795 and ref2 to 0.863...

Vcore 1.475 which is 1.42v in windows, might see if i can get this down a bit now, but i doubt it, i found the auto setting for the cpu fan helped here

1.38v mch

I doubt there are many legs left on this overclock!

That seems to of got me 3 hours prime95 stable so far, not a bad overclock if its stable, very happy, thanks!

Looking good
If you notice in bios, if you change CPU Termination, than both CPU References move accordingly. This is good as they act as a % of Termination. Once you find a sweet spot, as you may have done, it stays

see Tuning Bios - GTLREF & DRAM Sub Voltages for more info, though stick with your own values , having found the best spot. You might want to explore the best MCHRef(MCHGTLREF)
