Default 4,387 -7.5x585@2.00B= 1,170 5-5-5-18 v2.28

4,387 -7.5x585@2.00B= 1,170 5-5-5-18 v2.28
Journeey''s start :-
Wprime (CPU) solid as rock but Super Pi (ram) buggered

Just to ensure that it was nothing to do with dual channel being unstble I tried 1170 at a lower FSB , keeping same cpu speed
4392 - 9x488@2.4b 1171 5-5-5-20
After trying a few things that didn't get me anywhere I upped the sub viltages. On all previos timings up to & including 1,150Mhz the sub voltages have been sxaled to vdimm from :-
At Vdimm 1.80v
Dram Termination = 0.80v
Channel A ref = 0.80v
Channel B Ref = 0.80v
MCH./Dram Ref = 0.80v
In other words 44.44% of Vdimm.
to get to 1,170 I needed to increase to 46.5% in other words 0.837 at 1.80v (or value closest to )
Interestingly I'd try using Auto for the sub voltages & didn't get the result.

So back to 7.5x585 but using the higher memory sub voltages :-
Finally

interesting approach on channel A/B ref and dram termination voltage.. i usually use 1/2 of vdimm value so 0.50

have you tried that as well ?

the normal settings in the bios are based on 50% of vdimm. I just played with the level early on and found that it worked fine. Found it way back here Tuning Bios - GTLREF & DRAM Sub Voltages

how is this board doing now with the latest bios?

EDIT:...i am seeing a lot of bios problems for the QX9650 with the biostar tpower I45...the e8500 was a lot smoother; at least on the FIRST board

Hi Ace,
Not really had chance to try it this week, flashed it but, it's on air, while I started to get going with the EP45T, will swap back soon & do a comparison. From what Eva & Dino say though it seems to be a another step forward Dinos22 & Eva

George has been beating my man from Gigabyte hands down with BTA's we've done pretty well . Though in fairness as an old Abit hand you should be used toi slow bios update process. Maybe Biostar aren't used yet to been in the position their in with the TPower ?
