Lian-Li PC-A77 Full Tower Case - Conclusion.
If you're wondering why I haven't built the system up and recorded a series of temperature readings, it is because I believe that there are too many contributing factors for the data to be of any use. Some examples of this would be the amount of, and configuration of hard drives, what kind of cooling was used, room temp and so on. I will be doing a full build thread as a separate article, and as soon as that is up and running, I will link it to this one.
I did a quick, air cooled set up to do a few tests and noise wise, the case performed well, and this was mainly down to the fact that Lian-Li use good quality, low noise Adda fans throughout and these can be further quietened by the Smart Fan Controller.
Air flow through the case is exceptional, and this is largely down to the two, 120mm fans bringing in cool air at the front, and then the two, 120mm exhaust fans expelling air out of the back
Hard drive noise wasn't an issue either with the rubber grommets even subduing my Raptor somewhat. Having said that, the seek noise of the Raptor will always be audible above the fans in this case.
Build quality is awesome, everything comes apart and then fits back together perfectly and there were no sharp edges to speak of, although there were a couple of rough (not sharp) edges on the back of the motherboard tray.
The black anodised finish is quite hardy, although any accidental marks and scratches can be easily fixed with the careful use of a permanent marker.
To sum up, if you need a full tower and you want a stylish, sleek looking case with massive amounts of room and precision build quality, then take a close look at the Lian-Li PC-A77 because it's a bit special.
