I can post at 540fsb....I can even get into windows....barely.

For me it is a mem issue though....I cannot stabilize my memory on the 400/1333 divider using 540fsb and ddr3-1800 speeds. Even with loose timings like 9-9-9-30 2T tRD 10. But I can run 530fsb all day with ddr3-1766 and 8-7-7-24 1T trD 9.

Go figure.

But this is on the 829 BIOS

Come join the party....though it says I have already sent it off, I had to leave town earlier this week and won't get it sent until tomorrow at the earliest.

Good luck with the feature request, looks like a good idea if they can implement it

Try using just 1 RAM Slots it may help
Memory copy bandwidth is rather low I guess it's NB parameter related issue...
I got 535FSB down, 3200% HCI memtest passed, no more BSODs with the lastest BIOS I wonder if it does the trick.

I had to start playing with GTL to lower my VID at 420. I could get it stable without it, but at a much higher VID. I'm finding 0.64 is a good number for me... (at my low OC).

I also had to start working with the fine memory delays (the 4 settings at the top) and it needed CPU Clock0 Skew of 100 ps.

Same problem here. I have to soft-power-off to get it to boot. (Adding GTL improved this, but it's still there). I get it more often if I reboot right after stress testing -- either memtest CD boot, or linpak or prime in windows.

For the first time since having this board I had to reinstall windows last night, though it was probably my fault for trying silly straps (I was trying a 400/800 or something to see how it'd go... :P).

Anyhow, I reinstalled windows with default BIOS settings, and kept getting the hang on POST, only after restaring the PC through windows. I went through various BIOS settings to see what could be the problem, and pushing the memory voltage seemed to make all the difference, I could restart the PC from windows with no problems.

We'll see how it goes and whether I get the problem again...

Sure. I am a novice Intel OC'er and since I'm working my way up, I haven't fine tuned any of these numbers except as needed to get to the OC and a little to get VID down. I'm also still working on 430. My last try (one DRAM step down) was only prime stable to 7 hours (LinPak 60 cycles is stable and so is SuperPi). I don't move on to the next until it's prime stable for 8+ hours. I'm also not at a very high OC compared to some around here...

These are from an excel spreadsheet that I keep my attempts in (over 100 lines right now -- but I'm learning alot ). I'm pretty sure that everything else is auto or set by choosing optimized defaults except that I have the auto shutdown temperature set to 80 or 85C (don't remember which I settled-on). If you need me to fill out one of Clunk's forms, let me know.

(In excel, these are nice pretty columns with changes autohighlighted -- don't know how to make that happen here...)
