Not much difference from what i could see last night, 3.6/400/1600 still needs ~1.3-1.35v vCore, 1.5v NB and 1.35 VTT. I didn't try much else for lack of time, I'll try and see if the 400/1600 strap is any better this time round tonight.

e: by updating the BIOS I did somehow lose my raid array though. S'only game installs, so I'm not too fussed, but I didn't expect scandisk to load up on windows startup and to come to an empty drive when windows did load...

I will help to test the new beta BIOS as well.

SquidgyB, we can keep in touch in case if any help needed.

Cheers

First Try.

1. Flash to 923 and my RAID failed to boot to windows. Need re-installation.
2. Strap still hinders the FSB overclocking limit. With 266/800 Strap (2:3 Divider) I will only be able to get to 355 FSB maximum or so. Higher then that will result in post failure / random lockups. Will try 400 later
3. F9 Function is not useful at all as I suppose everyone choosing this board should be an extreme tweaker.

P.S.: Currently running 533*7.5. Realised that with RAID setup need a pump of vNB and vSB to enhance statbility. Double HCI Memtest still a failure while OCCT and Large FFTs Passed.

Hmmm, seems I'm lucky to have my raid array holding non essential stuff. I only really set it up because I have a pair of 74Gb SATA I raptors... raided they have pretty much the same HDTach stats as my main SATA II WD 250Gb drive.

I assume that you have a dual core CPU, judging by 533fsb. Could you put your PC config details in your profile, the link on how to do it is on Clunk's signature Thanks.

Yeah the RAID detection works fine but just refuse to boot (Got some stupid error message like some important files are missing).
I have been using a rather high vNB. I've tried 1.555v BIOS but when I try to stress it by extracting files / compression, the system just went off and reboot, while 1.6v won't have such problem.
The GTL Reference Voltage I'm currently using are:
CPU 1/2: 80
CPU 0/3: 78
NB: 50
VTT 1.21 BIOS

According to your system spec you're using QX9650 which is quad core. AFAIK to get to higher FSB you'll need to tweak CPU GTL carefully so that you can hit 500 FSB easier~

Cheers

EDIT: I'm kind of confusing if CPU VTT Voltage Controls NB VTT Voltage as well?? If yes, then another suggestion to BIOS maybe seperate into two options will be better...I know somebody is working hard on other support forums to get DFI to hear from us so that the BIOS can improve in a better way~

EDIT2: My board have a minor problem. At high FSB it sometimes refuse to POST but when I hit reset it POST fine again. Anyone have this problem so that I can identify it's BIOS related issue please?

VTT is the voltage the signal value is referenced to in order to determine if the value is high or low when being exchanged between the CPU and NB. As such the voltage can not be a split plane between the two.

I quite often get a message like that, usually when using 400/1600 strap and >400 FSB. That error appears less often with the more recent BIOSes though.

Yeah, for me 1.5-1.6 seems to be what's needed to remain stable. I assume the NB is a 65nm part, so it shouldn't be too stressed at that voltage, and the temps always seem fine at around 50c.

I played a lot with GTL Ref voltages previously, but I've found I don't really have to to get 3.6/400/1600 stable, though getting them right might mean lower NB/VTT voltages, so I'm going to give it a try at some point.

I doubt I'll ever get to 500 FSB to be honest. I've settled for 400 for now, I'd be happy with 450 if it ever becomes a possibility.

Which forum is that? I'd like to help any way I could, certainly seeing as quad cores appear to be having a relatively difficult time with this motheboard.

Yes, I get this a lot. I don't know of any fix for it, it usually freezes just before the memory check in the POST, and like you say, a quick reset usually resolves it.
