Ok guys now is intelburn a good stress test to use? I only ask as i can pass occt 2h all day long but when i use intelburn i get bsod and reboot about 5 seconds in. Now with the following volts i can pass the full stress 5 tests that it gives me but does this mean im now stable??? I know i should run prime overnight but they say this is better??
What do you guys think...
Cheers Paul

Linpack (IntelBurn) is just like everything else we use to test stability. I've used Linpack it seems like forever. It's great as a fast means of getting board voltages dialed in close. By itself it is no guarantee of stability. There isn't a setup that I can't configure to pass Prime, OCCT or Linpack yet will not complete the test suite of PCMark Vantage. 24/7 use is the only real test.

No, 5 linpaks is not stable. Even the author says do at least 20.

I just started using linpak. I found it quicker to identify a problem than prime, but after passing 60 linpaks, my system still failed prime at about 6.5 hours. So for me, linpak's an intermediate test, with prime still being the final stability test (along with the 3dmarks -- it's surprising that the old 2001SE will sometimes fail when I'm 12 hour prime stable -- telling me to keep working .

You hear the term "prime stable" banded about a lot, but it really means nothing unless you intend using your system for folding or similar.

I've had prime95 sessions fail after 12 hours, and then the same session failed almost immediately, then onto 12hrs+...as Praz says, the best test is to run your system as you would for a few days and see how you get on.

Thanks guys..
I dont do folding and had no problems b4 using linpaks so i guess it was stable enough. All i needed to raise was vtt and nb up a notch and it passed. When i do decide to get more out of my cpu what is the max v-core and vtt i should use for 24/7 use is it still about 1.4v for both?.I think im gonna aim for 4.4Ghz and ive seen that above this people are using 1.35v vtt so i guess thats ok yes?

Well after doing some reading ive read that 1.2vtt is classed as high if it is or not im not sure but i did decide to play about with my volts. As i said i was occt stable but not linpack stable till i upped my vtt ond nb volts, so i decided to drop my volts just to see what would happen and for some strange reason it passed. I ran 20 tests then 10 then 5 just to see if it would fail and it didn`t. So now if i was to run prime what test should i choose to let it run overnight?
Thanks Paul
