- any chance to avoid that C1 error code with stock bios and a pair of OCZ 2x1Gb PC12800 (rated 7-7-7@1.9) ? Am i better of purchasing something else while i'm still in my 7 day evaluation period ?

- any suggestions to get me started with overclocking a Q9450 ?

thanks in advance !
Thanks and welcome to the forums

Not sure on the upside down thing, I know they work fine flat and upright.

The OCZ sticks will not work with the shipping BIOS.

There was someone that couldn't get some OCZ special ops CAS8 sticks to work either, so might be worth trying another brand entirely.

If you already have the sticks, try contacting DFI for a new BIOS chip

Have a search on the forums, there should be several sets of settings for the 9450 dotted around, but don't expect miracles with that CPU, you will most likely be looking at 3.4-3.6Ghz max

Hi clunk and thanks for the insight.

Let me put this straight : I'm a noob with this rig, could you (or an other fellow poster) recommend a 2Gb/4Gb trustworthy kit to get me started, as the T3RS seems to be picky and i can't seem to find a definitive answer through my googling....(saw SquidgyB posts @ ocz forum btw)

Have a look at the Corsair 2x2GB kit that I reviewed, they work straight out of the box with the shipping BIOS and mine overclocked to around 1840Mhz.

Hey Clunk, Your review of this board is by far the best I've seen on the web, ever...heh. I was wondering if you knew a connector type that would work for the optical connection on the back (inside) part of the Bernstein audio module, and if I were to use an hdmi 1.3 connection from an ATI 4870 video card would I even need to enable the onboard sound? I've also ordered come crucial ballistix ddr3 2000 and hopefully they'll work with the shipping bios. When I get my build together in the next few weeks I'll report back. Thanks again for the great review of this board, it definitely helped me decide my purchase. Regards.

Flattery

The Bernstein module doesn't have an optical out on it.

The HDMI out will just be the picture, so you will still have to hook up the sound to your amp/speakers in the usual way.

I think they are CAS9, so you should be ok

Pics of your build will be nice and a bag full of used bank notes to ze usual address

Talking Great Review on Board

This is my first time posting on this forum and all i can say is great reviews clunk. Your review on the t3r has lured me to choose the DFI x48 t3r. The board just looks soo sweet compaired to the other boards. The gigabye x48t seems to be a nice over clocking board but the way the heat sinks were added to it to cool it made it look bit sloppy for me. the DFI just looks like a clean board. This will be my first DFI board i have heard that these boards are great for overclocking enthusiast. Wish me luck. i got the ocz 1600 EB just like the ones you got. Figured if works for you may work for me. thanks Clunk. i just need to cough up some more bucks for a case and watercooling system =D not sure how im going to this though.

Argg..that sucks. I thought the prongs on the inside part of the card were for an optical connector of some kind.

Optical out looks like this usually - far left. It's the reason I use an Auzentech X-Plosion
