It was very confusing from the start with all the options in bios but, I try to follow Clunk, Praz.Supershanks and all other guys that are working very hard with this board and what they are testing. I just want to say thanks for all your hard work, keep it up I might aswell post a phot of my rig, hope it's ok.

Welcome to the forums

It's always a bit bewildering when you first see the DFI BIOS, but theres a lot of it that you don't have to mess with if you don't want to

The rig looks good - dual DDC + petras, I'll bet it is almost taking off

Morning John,

Been snowed under this last couple of weeks, but I will be back on this again this week.

So this 0627 is playing nicely with the 2000Mhz 2x1GB OCZ kit now then? I was just about to dump it and get some microns

Can you boot to windows ok with them at 2000Mhz?

Evening,

Don't know about the 2000 sticks. The ones I used are 1600EBs'. I don't have any 2000 but I'm told I might have some this week . Booting into Windows is no problem. Been running Crysis in both XP and Vista 64bit this afternoon.

Sorry, I misread the part number as 16000EB.

Still, they are running ok at 2000Mhz though, so thats a good sign

I should go to bed

By the way, does anyone prefer this narrow forum template for the reviews section?

It kind of makes things neater I think..what say you?

Don't like it here on a 24" display - guess it will require more scrolling.
How about putting some of your family pictures in the unused spaces, so far we've only seen what you look like.

Question

Wonderfull review, i still have a few questions about this board :

- do you think there will be unexpected effects if i install this board on a BTX case ? (ie the whole heatpipe/flame frezer will be turned upside down, pointing toward the ground)

- any chance to avoid that C1 error code with stock bios and a pair of OCZ 2x1Gb PC12800 (rated 7-7-7@1.9) ? Am i better of purchasing something else while i'm still in my 7 day evaluation period ?

- any suggestions to get me started with overclocking a Q9450 ?

thanks in advance !

Being upside down shouldn't have an effect on heatpipes, they work using a "wick" inside the pipe, so gravity isn't an issue.

If you've got the original BIOS then more than likely you will have problems with that memory until it's flashed. You could buy different memory, ask DFI for a new BIOS chip, or purchase a pre-programmed BIOS chip off the net. Any of those should work.

I couldn't help you with the Q9450 mate, sorry! I'm having enough trouble keeping a QX9650 stable at 400fsb, I have a week off work now though, so I can get stuck in with tweaking GTL ref voltages, I'm sure I should be able to get it stable at some point :P

As SquidgyB says. I run a Lian Li v2000 which mounts inverted , runs fine. Look at all those Aussies they run upside down as well, don't seem to bother Eva

sorry can't help with ram & am running a wolfdale.
