The wall doesn't appear to be so much FSB as memory speed. Right now it's hard to tell as dropping to a lower divider is producing less then expected results because of the dividers themselves. I think once Oskar gets flight times and waveform shaping done 500+ will come.

Mine appears as though it is FSB limited because even with the NB strap set to a moderate level, I still can't pass 488 with any stability, regardless of the voltage.

I have no doubt that it will come, but lets hope it's sooner rather than later

Great review Clunk!

Did you find out if DDR3 is worth it over DDR2?

Welcome to the forums

Testing has slowed down because we have been waiting for a BIOS that allowed us to pass the 488fsb mark with any stability.

But to answer your question, I have no doubt that DDR3 is better than DDR2 providing that money wasn't an issue.

If they were the same price, I would take the DDR3 every time.

Regarding this board though, if they fix the BIOS, it will be a monster, if they don't, it is still a respectable overclocker, just not quite in the same league as the DDR2 boards yet.

Do you reckon is something related to the NB timings?

I'm really not sure what the problem is.

For most people, it isn't going to hamper their 24/7 clocks, or people with a Q6600 will be fine, it's rock solid in that respect.

HI Clunk, great review as always, waiting with money in hand to buy the DFI UT X48-T3RS LanParty or the DFI UT X48-T2R LanParty.

Now I wish to get a E8500 and only run it around 9.5 x 445FSB, will be using this for gaming only.mmmmmmmm which one to buy is the problem
