The main pieces are installed now, I'm just waiting for the bios chip and memory to turn up
I'm thinking of putting as much thermalright metal into the case as is physically possible... with an HR-05 sli ifx on the NB, HR-07s on the memory, possibly a HR-11 for the gpu. I'm torn between a combo of a HR-03 and a vadim modular waterblock (just the black that cools the ram, not really a water block per se) for cooling the 9800gtx, but that'd come up to about £50, whereas I can get an arctic cooling accelero 9800 for about £30. That will, by all accounts, be quieter and provide better cooling.

Beta BIOS 0619
Testing with a new Beta BIOS 0619 today, if anyone wants it, you can download it here, but you need to be logged in to get it.
I was hoping not to do the review with a beta, and I mentioned this to DFI so they said I can let people have it for testing purposes.
No idea what the differences are, but hopefully this one will allow 500FSB/2000Mhz and upwards
As always, use the beta BIOS at your own risk. I don't accept any responsibility for any loss or damage that may occur from downloading and using this BIOS.

I got the bios chip today, and according to UPS the memory left Los Angeles last night
When I get home, and if I have time, I'll take some pics of the pc and put them up...
I was meant to be going to Stonehenge for the solstice, but considering how much sleep I've had in the last few days I'm tempted to pull out and spend a quiet night in with the missus
Should I start my own thread with these piccies, or just pop them in here? I don't want to hijack your review thread Clunk!

Yep, if it's rig pics, you could get a thread going in the modding/builds section, it needs a bit of life
Instead of going to stone henge, you could get some bricks and stack them up in your garden and take pictures of them close up. Drop an acid, paint yourself with bovril and dance around naked for several hours

funnily enough, that's pretty much the idea someone had in our "local" forum...
[QUOTE: Snail Of Satan]Go bang a drum in your back garden or in the park and watch the sun rise. Then you wont have to drive anywhere and you might get the added bonus of drunken chavs shouting abuse at you![/quote]
...and I have some fun funny fungus I picked and dried last year ready for it too... might have to wait for a nice summer day in the park!

Supershank's Board Arrives
After missing out on DFI's Intel boards for a while, I decided to buy the DFI UT X48-T3RS LanParty.
Last DFI board I had was 939 SLI , so it's been a while.
Clunk does a great job with his reviews , but I wasn't prepared for the inintial impact of this board. It looks AWESOME. The board oozes quality, it was like getting a Ferrari through the post
Love the way you can mount your own NB Cooler whilst leaving the heatpipes in place. I took advantage of this & mounted an old favourite of mine Swiftech MCX159-CU
I mounted it using a spoare set of D-Tek Fuzion mounting posts, replacing the nut & screws and pushing the postys up from underneath* :-
It's slightly off square but no worries.
* I ensured that the bolts were insulated, leaving the DFI washers in place.
