Welcome to the forums

Yes, it will fit on the X38, but I'm not sure about the P35.

I will be starting a build thread this weekend, and I'll do some shots of it fitted to my LT X48

cool.... ive got a watercooled loop on my system, all using 1/2" tubing and none of the pwm waterblocks have barbs which are that diameter, so a nice big heatpipe just to cool the mosfet would fit the bill just perfectly

::edit:: actually are the heatpipes removable from the pwm heatsink? if not, then i'll take the watercooling system away from my rig to install this, run everything at stock speeds and sell or give it away

You can add a waterblock on top of the NB cooler on this. Just take off the heatsink and its a flat base, so a waterblock works well.

sweet! i've always had problems mounting the waterblock because of the diagonal screwholes, it would just keep rocking side to side and wear out at the edges of the chip, and scratch the base of the waterblock... hopefully with a flat piece of metal between the block and the chip, the situation should improve

this sounds abit like that asus waterblock heatpipe cooling system on their maximus boards... but alot better

X38/X48 have an IHS, so there's no rocking about

I've been using a DD chipset block for about 2 years now and it's always made good contact.

What block are you using?

im using the xspc x20 (i think thats whats its called) block, the round one... it doesnt quite cover the whole ihs at the corners

i hope this setup gets released soon, i cant wait to ditch the pwm cooler with its missing fins where the old transpiper is supposed to go

by the way, is there anywhere which still sells the old transpiper?

If you contact DFI directly, they should be able to help you out.

Failing that, see if your local retailer will order them for you?

Just a word of thanks to you Clunk and everyone else here. This has to be a labor of love. To update my contact with DFI San Jose Ca. USA. They will not sell the Transpiper II. Warranty and Legal got in the way. Sorry for the bad news...unless some has a friend...?
