I read in an earlier post about other alternatives to south bridge cooling for the board.
I have an enzotech slf-1, which i was hoping to use, even though the holes dont line up, i was thinking of using some seksui #5760 adhesive thermal tape to attach it with. However i am worried that the heatsink may touch some components on the board, seeing that it is also a little wider.
Are there any other southbridge cooling methods around, or any proper heatsinks, keeping in mind that i am running two cards in crossfire?

hi rcas000,
sorry no it's a difficult job to source somnething, the ones i've listed Aftermarket Cooling X38/X48 2of3 are the only real ones I got to try. The fact that two of them are Vantec might make them a 1st supplier to look at, their product genrally seem better sized for the southbridge maybe.

Yes holes don't align. Tried drilling them out to make better fit, but still wasn't that good a fit.

Apart from that were there any clearance issues, ie. did the heatsink look like it was going to touch any other components.

Hi,

I know GTL is a % function of VTT, in order to set the transition voltage between states 0 & 1 (low & high).

What are the normal values (%) for GTLREF1 & GTLREF2 ?

GTLREF

is it correct?

GTL REF1 (normal) = 67%
GTL REF2 (normal) = 63%

then, according to that:

GTL REF1 (+3%) = 70%
GTL REF1 (normal) = 67%
GTL REF1 (-3%) = 64%
GTL REF1 (-6%) = 61%

GTL REF2 (normal) = 63%
GTL REF2 (-3%) = 60%
GTL REF2 (-6%) = 57%
GTL REF2 (-9%) = 54%

Thanks

I'm running two HDDs in RAID-1 on the 2 SATA 3Gb/s connectors (GSATAIIA, GSATAIIB),
and I created the RAID using the prompt during boot, so from BIOS basically.
When I'm in Windows XP x64, I simply see this RAID-1 as one SCSI disk.
I was wondering: Is there any Windows software that can actually control or view the RAID's status, quality and do things to fix/repair/rebuild the RAID and so on? Or should this be done from the boot-BIOS tool only?

Why did you use the jmicron (gigabyte raid)? The intel raid is much better & comes with Intel Matrix Raid manager which lets you create a raid from within windows, and lets you do exactly what you ask.
