Default Yeaahhhh!!!

Dear all!

I am glad to announce that after:
-hundreds of reboots
-5 bios flashes
-one partition table ruined (Don't know how it happens, just didn't boot anymore while testing FSB overclock, and I've lost both my win and linux partitions).
-nights spent on this forum trying to understand where I was wrong
-boring you with some stupid newbie posts

I FOUND MY STABLE SETTINGS (see the end of the posts)!!!!!! :-)

I am very happy!
I would like to thank you all, for your suggestions, inputs, and this wonderful thread!

Wally

P.S. Here are my settings.
- Bios F6b,
- Linpack ran 15 iterations without errors,
- Core temperatures around 50 degrees at full load,
- Prime is running since 19 hours without errors,
- Crysis does not crash (my favourite benchmark ;-))

Yer I tended to use that one all the time as their both x16. Left a nice clear space for ram. Never saw any issues.

Those two CPU GTLREF1 Voltage CPU GTLREF2 Voltage do not exist in my BIOS, how do you get them to show?

My hardware seems a bit unstable when I torture test with Prime95. This is my stuff:
- Gigabyte GA X48T-DQ6 revision 1
- 4096MB Mushkin XP3-12800 CL7 KIT BlackAsc (7-7-6-18)
- Intel Q9550 Stepping E0 (SLB8V)

with a Gigabyte GeForce 9600 GT 1GB (GV-NX96T1GHP) videocard.

Anyone care to show me his/her best BIOS settings? I'd rather run it stable than fast.
But since the Mushkin DDR3 can run at 1600 MHz, it remains at 1333 because FSB is 333 MHz with this Q9550 CPU. I'm not sure what best to do here.

I tried raising the CPU by doing 7.5 x 400 and run the Q9550 at 3.00 GHz that way, but it's really tricky with all those new BIOS settings that seem to influence each other all over the place, and I don't know what overvoltages to use (if any, since the board hints for doing this all by itself on Auto..). My PSU isn't a problem, as you can see in my system specs.

Memtest86+ v2.11 shows numerous errors at about Pass 37% (during Test #6) with the DDR3 at 1600 MHz. :-(

Please bear in mind that this is a relatively old review.
Think I've done another 6 reviews since then , so no the thread is behind in terms of bios updates. In short the answer is NO , especially when you shout

Lets see :-
1) CPU GTLREF
Quote:
The 2 CPU GTLReF Voltage ratios are hidden and can only be accessed from the main menu using [CTRL] + [F1] from the main bios menu screen.
2) GIGABYTE GA X48T DQ6 - Bios Template
Quote:
Note: * Hidden Features Press [CTRL] + [F1] from main Menu to Access + FSB 45nm= 1.15v
3) It's a repeat of what's in the Gigabyte GA X38 DQ6 Blog
Have a Nice Day.

But you've called it a Living review for a reason I reckon? If it's no longer running and this X48T board review is considered dead already, then by all means, put a lock on it then. Geez.

Thanks for the other answers though.

That's a pretty poor attitude to adopt when you come here looking for help.

Why not come with something useful, such as the correct links instead of complaining about it?

If you don't like it, there are plenty of other, less helpful sites out there for you to troll.

That's interesting mate , but I'm not certain moving from the diagram to the actual board circuit , sorry.
Have you a multimeter ? Perhaps using the pdf guide you can predict what the voltage should be & test it the points to see if they are the ones you want ?
