Default IM back and i have installed a new cooler its the NOCTUA-CP12

I am ready to take the computer to a new clock speed, i have with the settings at the values you told me to put , increased the fsb to 447 to get 3.8ghz but after running prime i am getting an hardware error , also since increasing the fsb the ram is up also to 1490 from 1337mhz

what do you suggest i do one in high OC knowledge

greatly appreciate your help

Hi mate, can you post your bios settings for your 3.8. Overcllocking your ram to 1490 grom 1337 will need some timi9ng & voltage rwaeking. Need to see where you are.

Probably first thing to try is put Static tREAD Phase Adj............: 8 AUTO to 9
Run prime & remember to make a note of what size fft it fails on.

If it's still giving a hardware error when running prime, or failed on small ffts, go into bios & change
System Memory Multiplier (SPD)....: 3.33d to 2.66d this will reduce your ram speed to
Memory Frequency 1,1192(Mhz) this is temporary to remove memory from the equation while focussing on getting the CPU stable.
Run prime small ffts & try increasing these by a notch.
(G)MCH OverVoltage Control,(1.25v): =0.250
CPU Voltage Control...............: +1.35000v

what are your cpu temps like did you get a new cooler ?

i went straight into the bios and changed the system memory multiplier to 2.66
i did the prime test(belnd ftts) and within minutes i had a hardware failure , fatal error rounding off 0.4 excpected 0.5 etc (at 1024)
i havent touched anything yet, any other approach you can think off?
in the meantime i will try to see what happens when i change the tread thing

so It's the cpu that's failing not your ram.
Did you try :-

(G)MCH OverVoltage Control,(1.25v): =0.250
CPU Voltage Control...............: +1.35000v
??
