no worries, thanks for posting your spec, it helps. Your ram is rated at 1333. So you might try 1333/3.33 = 400 fsb x 8.5 = 3403 CPU speed. that would be a start point for an oc whilst running your ram at stock.

I wouldn't worry too much re nortrhbridge, at least on this motherboard. You can Add a fan, THat's a 60mm fan with double sided tape , but at the moment I'd not worry too much

regarding cpu coolers I'f look at the Xigmmatek coolers we've just reviewed. They are a match for most top end coolers, but with a modest £.

yes it does sound like prime failed due to memory failure. Is this your ram ?
4GB G.Skill DDR3 PC3-10600 (1333MHz) CL8-8-8-21
If so you need to increase your vdimm to 1.65V whicj is the rated voltage. Auto will use the jdec value of 1.50v
so in bios select :-
DDR3 OverVoltage Control...(1.50v)..: +0.15v (note 1.65-1.50)
It may also help to increase (G)MCH OverVoltage Control from normal + 1 or 2 notches.

Try rerunning prime & see how it goes.

yeah i will get the coolermaster v8,i like to keep things in same fashion , but regarding the ram no thats not it mine is g.skill PI but in that model 1333mhz

its got silver casing and some weird design above it, like this

888888(this the top part)
______ (<this being the bottom)

its supposed to spread heating or something

but strangley enough i cant find it on the gskill website, unless theyve updated the outside case(heat spreader) after they updated their website

real question is what is their rated voltage. it should say on the packaging, if you still have it.
Alternatively on the modules there should be a product reference something like
Quote:
F3-10600CL9D-2GBPK/ F3-10600CL9D-4GBPK
for example. Try googling that module code to find info on your ram & it's rated voltage.

It might be that running 8gb is causing the failure. You may need to up the voltage or slacken the timings to run with 8gb. Might be worth trying to see if 4gb is stable, before trying 8gb. Maybe try each 4gb set in turn before running 8GB. Try running large ffts in prime or orthos, or get Memtest HCI and run that.

well the coolermaster v8,i is big , but the baby of the others I guess (click pic for more)
