Not a clue really , sorry. Only OCZ set I've had is the OCZ3P2000EB2GK which frankly doesn't perform as expected on Intel boards. I've also only had the Asus P5E3 Deluxe Wifi which is X38 rather than X48. It wasn't as good as the Gigabyte X48T, but it's not the same board as the X48 Premium.

Building a new system with this board, Q9650, 8gb of Mushkin Ascent (7-7-6-18) 1600mhz ram, 4870x2. Was wondering if theres any issues I should look out for. I'll be shooting for a 4ghz (possible 4.2ghz) overclock. Also any idea of what kind of timings I should shoot for? Am I being impatient and paranoid waiting on UPS?

Hi hostility,
Welcome to the forum
Ram is probably the most difficult to set up, compared with the CPU, though running with a quad rather than dual core adds to the difficulty I guess. So I'd start off by running your ram at around stock for now , whilre you find your feet. Your using 2x 4Gb kits ??

Be great if Add Your System Specs To Your Profile while you wait for UPS

Maybe start somewhere at 3,760 = 470x8 with 3.33D = 1565 ram speed If all goes well than you can up the multi to 8.5 / 9 or creep fsb up a little to get your ram up to it's rated 1600.
Re ram sub timings tRD is the key timing to watch, it doesn't always scale well and is genarally the main cause of the overclocking recovery cutting in

Yes, I'll be running 2 4gb kits (4 sticks, 2gb each).
Thanks for the tips! Added my specs to the profile.

Default x48t-dq6

i have looked all over the internet for advice, and quiet frankly nobody even seems to be 10% as informed about gigabyte bios as the poeple on this forum, im trying to overclock my comp which i recently brought, i have seeked advice everywhere and all i seem to be getting is information how to overclock the asus pq5 motherboard, nobody speaks gigabyte or has a clue how to

my specs are q9550 vid 1.2750 stock
obviously dq6-x48t motherboard 8 gig ram
vista ultimate 64 bit

i am not sure how to raise my motherboards fsb to about 3.8 ghz cause theres so many options which i cant figure out, if somebody can give a point in the right direction would greatly appreciate it

havent changed anything in bios all stock or default settings

hi yukapuka,
Welcome to the forums and thanks for the kind words
Would be a big help if you could How To Add Your System Specs To Your Profile! we know about your CPU
Intel® Core™2 Quad Processor Q9550 but so far know nothing about your memory.
So 3800/8.5 = 447 fsb
so
Enter your new FSB of 447 into the CPU Host Frequency line in Bios. Use either the [pageup]/[pagedown] keys
or press [numlock] and enter the value directly.
see below

Next go to system memory multiplier and select 3.33D , this will set your ddr3 to 1,565Mhz. I'm assuming your ram is capable of 1600 ??

You'll need to change the following :-
Code:
Advanced Timing Control
Static tREAD Value (tRD)..........: 7 or maybe 8 to see if it runs.

System Voltage Control ()=Base Voltage): Manual
DDR3 OverVoltage Control...(1.50v): +??v set this to the rated voltage of your ram - 1.50(stock volt)
.........................................................So if your ram is rated at 1.9v then select +0.40v
PCI-E OverVoltage Control.,(1.50v): +0.10v
FSB OverVoltage Control....(1.10v): +0.20v
(G)MCH OverVoltage Control,(1.45v): +0.250v
CPU GTLREF1 Voltage*.......(67%)..: -3%
CPU GTLREF2 Voltage*.......(61%)..: -3%
Loadline Calibration..............: Auto
CPU Voltage Control...............: 1.350v this is a guess on my part you may need to play with this.
Note: * Hidden Features Press [CTRL] + [F1] from main Menu to Access

Also change the settings here to the values shown.
Advanced Bios Features
Limit CPUID Max to 3..............: Disabled
No-Execute Memory Protect.........: Disabled
CPU Enhanced Halt(CIE)............: Disabled
CPU Thermal Monitor 2.............: Enabled
CPU EIST Function.................: Disabled
Virtuaalization Technology........: Disabled
You'll probably not get there immediately, it takes a bit of time , experiment with CPU voltage, and of course let us know how it's goung

luck
