Wow...very interesting. I'm surprised the ceramique appears to suck pretty bad under load compared to silver 5! I thought it was supposed to be better. Dayum.

I might pick up some of that IC Diamond 7 from newegg when I order the heatsink. Thanks!!

crazy cool is fairly easy to remove.

the push pins are not that difficult if you have some muscles!

don't forget MX2 thermal paste...it is about the same as that diamond paste and MX2 is very easy to apply.

Which fan is that? I searched Newegg and all I see are Panaflo fans with 3-pin power connectors. Isn't it better to use 4-pin so the MB can control the fan?

I think I'll order the backplate designed for this heat sink as well, just in case.
think that makes a lot of sense, saves on postage as well , gives you the option. as Ace said though removing the crazy cool is a doddle see index in post #1 there's a how to.

luck

Well, they don't have the Diamond 7 on newegg so I might get that MX2 or OCZ Freeze paste.

Yeah, I've already removed it once ... not really a problem at all. I just wonder if it will hurt the cooling properties to remove it, or maybe it doesn't do all that much good.

mine is the 3 pin and i plugged that into the cpu fan control fan header...it won't control the speed of the fan on that header unless it is a four pin plug...the panaflo 2.7k fan ,120x38 mm, is amazingly quiet even at full rpm.

@SS...i haven't gotten into running any P95 events but up to now it handles the heat very good...i like it and consider it a good buy.

Hmm..maybe my temps weren't as bad as I thought. I have been using CoreTemp with the (default?) Tj Max set to 105. I think it should be 95 for the QX9650. So I think my readings were 10 degrees too high.

I think I'll still get a better heatsink/fan though

I've found that the push pins don't last too long , but it might hust be that i'm a clumsy bugger

Yes core temp is on 105C by default ie +10C to correct it edit the settings.ini file see Coretemp
