Hi!

Does anyone with rev 1.1 install the F6a Bios?

Is it working good?

Ok, I'm messing around with OC'ing my QX9650 some more. I have it pushed to 8.5x400 (3.4GHz) @ 1.275V and under Prime95 the core temps are now reaching 70C (and a bit beyond)

I'm sure my major sin here is that I'm still using the stock retail heatsink/fan. I am using Arctic Silver Ceramique though.

What do you guys recommend for air cooling? I found some info that makes the Thermalright Ultra 120 look good, but Newegg seems to be out of all Thermalright HSFs.

I want something that will easily attach to so I don't have to pull out the MB and/or remove the crazy cool plate.

XIGMATEK HDT-S1283 is a good alternative. It also comes with those awful plastic pins like the stock cooler so you can keep the crazy cool. There's also a new 1284 version aswell.

i am trying out the 1283 with the biostar and it clamps down very tight...the price of the HS won't take a big dent out of your pocket...the fan they have with it is a low volume fan...i switched that out with a Panaflo 2.7K fan.

Awesome, nice review! I think I might get that 1283 model. The 1284 model has some complaints about its design on newegg.

You're right about pushpins...they are a total pain. I think I'll order the backplate designed for this heat sink as well, just in case. Do you think removing the crazy cool thing will be that big of a deal? If I can get better cooling with crazy cool and the crappy push pins, I will go that route first...
