might be worth while copying GIGABYTE GA X48T DQ6 bios template and pasting it into a post with your current settings. Chances are someone might spot something
    I have the f5 bios.

I am checking the manual also, no such option there either. (p43 of the manual, advanced bios features page [Gigabyte X48T-DQ6])

Can you see this option at any of the screens under the link I gave above? I guess you made those screenshots, do you have any screenshot that have that option?

will fill in the template, thnx!

I saw it in the manual from here :-
It may not be in the actual bios, not sure , it's definitely available on the Extreme , not that that's any help

Well, that line is missing in my bios. After the virt. tech. the full screen logo comes for me..

I just had a freeze in windows (after no problems for almost a 8 hours), so after all it is crashing there aswell.
I had the FSB at 330 when it froze in windows. (Now I reduced it to 328 to see if it is stable there)

Basically my bios settings are the ones that are set by the failsafe option with the modifications needed to reduce the FSB to have the system more stable.

I suspect my CPU is faulty and can't handle its stock speed.. (How could I determine if it is the CPU for sure without replacement?) I will experiment with it some more, and wait for someone noticing sg here, and send it back for replacement if nothing new comes up..

Have you got EPP Enabled in Bios think it's below performance enhance in bios, Extreme Memory Profile running stock you should have it enabled as your ram supports it.
your ram A-Data X Series as you see the voltage range is 1.75v~1.85v The default (Auto) voltage is 1.50v so you need an overvoltage of +0.25v to get the bottom range of your ram specs. Either enabling EPP or

    DDR3 Over Voltage Control...(1.50v): Normal ----> +0.25v

    should help.

With the mem voltage increased the boot instability is gone!!

Great find supershanks, I can't explain how much you rule!!

You saved me from the embarrassment of finding the same issue after a CPU replacement..

It makes perfect sense after all, I am just clueless why the mobo won't find this as normal value by itself..
I would just expect from every system to run stable with failsafe settings..

Anyway thanks for all for the suggestions!!

Now it's time to see how far does it overclock..

    Too simple

For both DDR2 & DDR3 there is a jdec Std about Ram Voltage. DDR2 = 1.8v & DDr3 = 1.5v , so that's the Default voltages sorted However performance ram as you'd expect uses more juice and varies according to package. So that really only leaves the Extreme Memory Profile (EPP) to read the voltage from the memory module.

    More on Jdec here

I see. Maybe performance RAMs should have a giant red flag on their boxes that they don't work correctly with standard DDR3 voltages...

Well it's the same with ddr2. It's luck of the draw, some ram will manage to run others won't. It's something you just put down to experience , once your aware of it , you should be ok

i asked gigabyte to give me the latest bios and i asked for informations about the new f6a and they answered:Thank you for your kindly mail again. About the issue you mentioned, in fact, new beta BIOS may fix some known system problem or improve H/W compatibility. But, sometimes, new version BIOS is possible to cause new system problem with some specific system configuration.

Therefore, if the system works well with earlier version BIOS, we do not recommend you updating MB BIOS to the newest version. Sorry for the inconvenience and trouble you encounter by our product.
so the new gigabyte tactic is to give unofficial the beta bioses from their employes only!i think the false f5 bios made them to change their minds!they are still defending the companys name and they are afraid of a new buggy bios Humiliation!ok i am with f6a now which gives me +4 fsb up and i wont mail again to gigabyte because i think it's a waste of time!
