Is there media in the drive when error occurs ??
Actually there is no Delay for HDD option in this bios. (Let me know if you find it. )

I tried to remove the DVD from the drive, no effect.

I had to downclock the system to 300 FSB to be able to boot this time after like 10 consecutive hangups.
After the downclock it haven't hang yet. (out of 3 restarts)

Maybe I should try to play with the FSB around the stock speed ..

Hi Znyzny
nice system you put together there. you problems seem strange indeed as your running good gear. does all your memory show in windows?/// whats the power setting in the bios for your cpu & memory?????

example my cpu is 115.00 and my memory is 2.0

incorrect voltage on any one of these will cause your problem..

Yes your dvd doesn't look like it should be an issue.
Delay for HDD should be around 3rd from bottom of Advanced BIOS Features
I'd also check as PaPa SuMrF suggested.

Hi, thanks.

All mem XP is capable to see AFIK is visible (2816M) out of the 4G. (All four sticks according to diag prgs.)

All voltage control is set to normal.

It seems to me that the stock clock is too high for one (or more) of the components I have (CPU, or mem) since lowering FSB helps it. Raising the fsb back to stock from windows doesn't cause hanging though. (Been stress testing it for a short time yesterday). Maybe adjusting voltages could help to reach the stock clock at boot time. What is strange for me is that this system is most sensitive to higher clocks at boot time and not stress tests. What could cause that? Or is that normal nowadays?

depends what bios you have , if you check the manual you'll see it in there. what bios are you using ??

might be worth while copying GIGABYTE GA X48T DQ6 bios template and pasting it into a post with your current settings. Chances are someone might spot something

nice.. i think its gigabytes new way to test bioses...so if f6a was a buggy bios file then no one could blame gigabyte...the best way to flash is with dos!i think after the bad f5 bios they seem to work more on x48t bioses and thats good!the f6a came 2 weeks after the new f5!i think its gonna have fixes and not support for cpus again and d.e.s!time will tell....
