so you like the DDR2 1200 board better then a DDR3 1900 ??? why, its a major downgrade in memory speed is' it ??? or is it due to the ease of overclocking as i found this info " Tpower- P45 OC Record (E8400, FSB675MHz, CPU to 6.0GHz) " which is cool if your into that. Myself im a gamer/surfer.

Angry Unstable at boot

Hi,

I've been reading this thread for quite some time today, and would like to thank all for the contributed info.

I have a problem that I haven't seen mentioned anywhere yet, maybe someone here can help:

My system does not boot in quite a big percentage of the cases (let's say 50%), however after is has booted (to XP) I can't crash it with any stress test. Games, benchmarks, stress test apps pass without problems.

I have flashed the f5 bios, no change. The system is not overclocked at all, failsafe settings applied.
I haven't tried removing all but one memory sticks, will try that soon.

The way it usually hangs during boot are one of the followings:

* doesn't get to post (vidcard fan spins up and doesn't spin down like at successful boots)
* hangs on the bios startup screen after the memory xxx OK line
* hangs on the xp boot screen

Have anyone seen something like this? Any suggestions?

(I hope this board displays my system specs, will post it later if does not)

Not seen anything like that myself , but :-
What raid are you using Intel or Jmicron ??
Have you tried with Delay for HDD =1 insread of 0 in Advanced bios settings
What optical drives are you using ??
Is there media in the drive when error occurs ??

I use the Intel raid, I have a Plextor DVD (PX-800A/T3, 18x8x12x) writer and usually there was/is a media in it.

I will also try the 'Delay for HDD =1' and removing the dvd..

Unfortunately there is no speaker in my case (I was pretty surprised when I found out), so I can't hear post beeps at all, but will get one if this does not get solved..

br
